Just to get an idea, how many of you are planning on picking up GoW 3 when it comes out? I know I am.
Damn, I fucked up. When you replay the chapter in Heavy Rain does It continue on with your same story afterwards? Or is it just a one and done thing
So the NFS World Online closed beta starts Friday. We had a TON of people sign-up for it, and I know of one board member that got selected. Anyone else get chosen?
Most likely yes. I was talking with a friend about it the other day, and I am tempted to pick up the collection and play through 2 again before I play 3, but we'll see if that actually happens. I would like to have the collection regardless. It really depends on if I'm still playing Final Fantasy 13 when it comes out, which I almost certainly will be since there is only a week between the two. I tend to be a completionist when I play Final Fantasy games and I'd bet that I'll sink at least 60-80 hours into 13.
Can anyone recommend games that would work on any computer that you can play online? Would be great if you could play it together with 3-5 people. Anything from MMO type games to racing that would just be easy to get started in by anyone. Doesn´t just have to be browser based although it would be better if it was.
MLB 2010 The Show Has anyone gotten ahold of MLB 2010: The Show? I think it came out yesterday. Last year's was a lot of fun and I'm thinking about getting the new one.
Won't be a long review because I don't really care for single player and haven't touched it yet, but Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a lot of fun. It's just about opposite in feel to MW2. MW2 felt so fast and arcadey -- which is fine, no doubt, BC2 is very expansive, the maps are 3-4x the size of MW2 maps, and are larger with up to 32 players. Classes in BC2 are not as customizable but you still have plenty of freedom. The vehicles aren't nearly dominant as I though they would be, which is great. The "Rush" multiplayer mode is a blast - one team attacks 3 or 4 sequential bases with two objectives in each while the other defends. Each new base is the size of Derail on MW2 but you never feel a lack of action or that you're just running. It some how seems to have the same tempo with out the frantic moments that MW2 has and seems more polished in general. And the game just sounds fucking amazing. Seriously it has the greatest sound effects and audio I've ever heard. If you're charging down a hill with an Abrams tank firing behind you and 10 teammates engaging enemies it is extremely cinematic. Really recommend it.
Madden NFL Arcade Delete this if already mentioned Being from the UK and having limited knowledge of American Football in terms of rules and general gameplay (Offensive and Defensive plays). A lot of friends have recently purchased this game off Marketplace and I thought I would give it a go as I have seen a few games when I have travelled over to the US and used to have a few Madden titles a couple of years back. This game is Madden combined with Mario Kart; it is such a great multiplayer game online and offline. EA Sports the brains behind Madden NFL Arcade have produced such a fun 5-on-5 football game to just pickup and play, it is just a pure adrenaline football game for casual and probably NFL fans-with your favourite players etc. IGN Review of gameplay:
Assuming they fixed the online play- Who here is interested in starting up an online league for MLB 10?
So I got the YLoD for my PS3. Should I get a new system or send it in for repairs? The repairs are slightly more than half the price of a new system but I'm just not sure if the YLoD will strike again. Should I get an Xbox360 now? Shift over to the dark side?
Damn you Zipper Interactive, god damn you. You passed off the Socom franchise to make MAG. I can understand that, it's important to try new things. However /6 promptly wiped their ass with that beloved franchise and released Socom: Confrontation, which from beta to release was just a buggy unplayable pile of shit. It only took three years to release a fucking map pack and half of those maps were from Socom 1. So now that I've finally come to peace with the Socom franchise being dead what does Zipper do? They announce that they are releasing Socom 4 the fall of this year. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/107/1074103p1.html Disclaimer: The only game I've ever been seriously addicted to (besides WoW) was the Socom series. I formed a clan in part 1 that was the first to reach 100 wins on the old SocomBattles.net. We hit 100+ wins again in Socom 2 and held the crown on Gamebattles.com. If there was a hall of fame for Socom, my clan would be in it.
Well sumbitch. I have a feeling that this years E3 is going to be packed to the fucking gills with awesome games. Im still holding out hope that Incognito/Eat,Sleep, Play reveals a Twisted Metal this year. Shit a new GTA wouldnt surprise me at all either.
More Crysis 2 screenshots: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.incrysis.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=851&Itemid=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.incrysis.com/index.php?optio ... 1&Itemid=1</a> These are so good it's actually hard to believe.
Besides Heavy Rain, everyone knows the 360 boasts better titles; from MW2 being more active online and the new Halo being released this year.
I've been re-reading the Wheel of Time series. I don't think I ever read past Crossroads of Twilight, though, I've reread p to that point, as of tonight. That means I have four days to read two 800+ page books before I get absorbed into a video game. Gonna take some effort...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHA Better titles? Aside from Mass Effect and Halo, what is there? Oh yeah Splinter Cell, whoops. Guess you're forgetting about the juggernauts known as God of War 3 and Gran Turismo 5 You fanboys kill me sometimes.
Just don't turn this into a fanboy flame war ok guys? Keep it civil-ish please. It is a video game thread after all so calling each other noobs and retards is expected.
