I haven't tried it, but those of you thinking of getting UFC 2010 can grab it from Newegg for $40 shipped. (xbox only) UFC 2010
I assume you're talking about the False King. He can be very difficult, and how you go at him depends on your character build. Personally, I had a very high Dexterity/Magic build with a Sticky Compound Long Bow +5 which was my primary weapon, and a Talisman of Beasts (allows you to use any spell you want). My character also had lighter (and less effective) armor, but it allowed more maneuverability, so I could dodge quickly. My strategy was to stay away, hit him from a distance with my bow or with Soul Arrow. By staying back, it gave me ample time to dodge his attacks and heal up when he did hit me. Took a while to actually take him down, but eventually died. My other advice is to seek out people to help you (assuming you're playing online). Bring a couple of blue phantoms along to help. In my experience, at the very beginning of 1-4 (the small room after the start, but before the dead dragon), is where a lot of people leave their soul markers, and is the easiest place to attempt to summon someone. Remember, though: you can only summon someone within 5 levels of you (so, if you're at soul level 65, you can only summon people who are between levels 60 and 70). If you're having trouble finding people, maybe try leveling up and see if that helps. Like I said, strategies depend on your build. Let me know what kind of character build you're using and I might be able to help more.
Anybody playing Super Mario Galaxy 2? I collected my 62nd (I think) star earlier. Excellent game. No unnecessary changes were made since the first and the game's incredibly fun to play.
Oh come on, they have Dana White in their studio, what do you expect them to say, "your game is shit"? I don't know in fact whether the game is good or not, it could be fantastic, but that is a bad example. Especially with video games where a lot of favourable reviews are given based on marketing hype, I think that it's important not to get suckered on by shit like this. The commentary probably sounds so spot-on because it's the first time you've heard it. By the time Goldie says "GOOD INSIDE KICK!" the fifth time, you will probably get sick of it. I played the demo for UFC 2009 and I wasn't particularly impressed by it, even though I love MMA. I thought the animations were really stiff and the action felt clunky. Maybe I haven't played it enough to give it a fair shake, so I think I'll rent this one for now, and buy it if I think it's really good.
It came in the mail the other day and I just completed the second world with 20 stars. Just like SMG1, its a ton of fun and really creative. Unfortunately, just like SMG1, its insanely easy. A lot of reviewers were saying it gets a lot harder than SMG1, but at the most I'll die like once or twice on a stage or kill myself on purpose if I notice I've missed a comet coin. I'm not saying the game needs to be incredibly difficult, but these two great games lack the challenge of Super Mario 64 and the 2D Mario games. Who knows, maybe Super Mario 64 was just as easy and I only remember it being so hard because I was like 10 when I last played and beat it. Still, though, this game is a ton of fun in small play sessions and I am glad I bought it.
Some of the stars are a little tricky to get as you progress. I've come across a couple that have taken me 5 or 6 lives. Even if it is easy at times, it's still an all-around joy to play.
Super Mario 64 was indeed a lot harder, thanks to the awful camera. In fact, knowing how to correctly adjust the angles was a major element of skill. Both Super Mario Galaxy games are very easy, (just like the two most recent 2D Marios on the DS and Wii) but still fun in spite of that. Generally, the easier a game is to complete on the default difficulty, the better it sells.
I really liked SMG 1. Maybe it was because it was easy. I don't have a whole lot of time to play games, and struggling through the same stage for a hour just frustrates me. Playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma just made me mad and didn't make for an enjoyable experience.
Sigma...that damn game. I can't even get past the boss on the airship. I believe that's the third level. Normally I enjoy getting my butt kicked and steadily improving. I loved Demon's Souls. For whatever reason though I just could not get the hang of Sigma. It's currently in the back corner of my entertainment center thinking about its behavior.
If anyone wanted in to the Need For Speed World beta, but didn't get authorized, PM me and I'll set you up.
I keep getting in trouble for taking the wrong horse. It's not even on purpose, they all fucking look the same. If you forget to whistle and just hop on the nearest horse you have people shooting at you, then you get a bounty for shooting them. Fucking horses.
I'm not sure how but I missed SM64 the first time around (but played Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64, both of which I still have in perfect working order) but when I tried SM64 on the virtual console, it was insanely frustrating and I gave up. Plus, I had never encountered the multiple stars/going back in the same environment and doing different shit thing so I was a little confused. Galaxy 1 was the same way. It was unique I guess but just as frustrating so I gave up on it too (quitter!). That bee level at the beginning especially aggravated the crap out of me. When 2 came in the mail, I gave it the obligatory try and became moderately interested. Because I never played very far through the first one, I can't vouch for the varying (or not) difficulties but I was pleased to see that things seemed to be a little more fresh and different. Until I hit the fucking bee galaxy. God DAMMIT. Between that and the rolling ball galaxy (which I know there was one in the last game but since I gave the fuck up early, I only grazed the surface on that), I have wanted to ram ice picks up my nose to quell the angry facial twitching. I am determined to get every last star now and will go back and do the same for 1. My stats are as follows (if anyone cares): Overall crowns for worlds 1 & 2, all crowns but one for world 3 (Beat Block), all crowns but two for World 4 (Honeyhop - GAH! & Bowser's Gravity Gauntlet) and have just started on World 5. 70 Stars, 29 comet medals. I shan't stop until I have them all!
114 Stars and 45 Comet Medals. Still going. Do yourself a favor, WickedBitch, and don't skip a single Comet Medal because you need them to unlock the Prankster Comets.
Absolutely! I won't go on unless I have the comet medal. You can't get the crowns without them. Spoiler Also, that spring mushroom can go eat a dick. Most frustrating, obnoxious bunch of bullshit ever. Even with my husband holding the chomps back it still took forever and all my furious mashing of the A button can't have been good for the remote. Mother fucker!
Speaking of horses, I was waiting for daylight in the game to do a race challenge with my horse and was walking around. Some fucker jumped on my horse and stole it. I could only afford this sickly, old, slow as hell horse and it took me awhile to get enough cash for a good horse. God I wish I shot that fucker.
Why are you guys buying horses? Just go out and lasso one and tame it. More likely than not it's a pretty damn good horse. And speaking of horses again, I have a couple funny stories about how my horses have gotten killed. One got run over by a train while I was tiptoeing through the tulips, and another walked in front of me during a shootout with some guys and I shot it in the head by accident...stupid fucking animals. On a different note, I'm on the last 'island' right now and hunting bears is fucking fun and extremely lucrative, something like $50-60 per bear. One or two shotgun blasts to the face takes em down quick, and if you're lucky enough to catch them off guard, you can 1 shot them with one of the powerful rifles if you hit em in the head.
Well once you tame certain horses (the Kentucky Saddler for example) you can buy it in the store, and then any time you want that horse you just select the deed in your inventory again. You can use it over and over again, even for the three fastest horses, that's why it's useful. As for easy money: fucking Five Finger Fillet. Once you master/memorize the button presses you can just make $100 bets every game and quickly rake in tons of money. I absolutely love this game, but if there's one thing that always pisses me off it's that when I need something for a challenge, that's the time it will choose not to spawn. For example, I needed to kill 3 bears with one shot each to get a challenge. Naturally it takes 15 fucking minutes of riding around before I can even find one bear. However, when I'm searching around the same areas looking for a certain plant, I can't find the plant of course, but fucking bears are spawning and attacking me left and right. Damn that was annoying. Fun tip: If you hogtie someone and then use your knife while crouched next to them, you'll slit their throat.
Do the bounty missions. They are all ridiculously easy and they are all the same. Just kill all the targets' compadre's and shoot the target in the leg, then hogtie him. I've made an insane amount of cash on only 6-8 of these things, I have about $4000 in the bank right now. And yeah that five finger game was easy as shit to get used to, in my experience though, the easiest bet is $35, you only have to do the combination once the first time, then twice the second.
So... Project Natal... It's just an elaborate joke, right? http://ca.kotaku.com/5556916/playing-project-natal-sure-is-embarrassing
What's everyone's thoughts on the size of Red Dead Redemption? It appears as big as GTA4, but I feel it's short on random activities compared to its modern day counterpart.
