Yes! I've played this; it's an amusing little time-waster. Samus is definitely the easiest to beat the game with, followed by Mega Man. Haven't beaten it with Link, Simon, or Bill with yet, but they all seem substantially worse. What are your impressions of each character's rank?
I'm going to have to agree with you about Samus, especially when you get flower power. On top of her gun, she gets to minimize herself and roll around, plus her bombs are quite powerful. Everyone says Mega Man is overpowered, but I don't see it, maybe it's because I suck with him. I love playing as Simon Belmont even though his jump absolutely sucks, I just love the axe/whip combo, I'd say he's the most difficult character to play as through the game. If I were to rank them from easiest to hardest to play through the entire game as I would say -Samus -Bill R -Mega Man -Link -Belmont I can't accurately place Mario since I haven't played with him in years. Take my rankings with a grain of salt since I play on a keyboard... I might need a gamepad for Ryu though. No joke, I'm legitimately more excited for SM Crossover v1.1 than I am for pretty much any other game.
Ha, I did a search for Super Mario Crossover in the forum hoping I wasn't double posting and it came up blank. Guess I need to do more homework next time.
Again, a game I'm really late to the party on. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Holy crap. Deserved the 10 of 10 it got. Decent platformer, good 3rd person shooter, mediocre hand to hand. Great storyline, compelling locales, and the voice acting is top notch. The original Uncharted was sorta the PS3 flagship game, and Uncharted 2 took all that was good about that game and made it better. If you haven't played it, I recommend it. Hell, even Achievement Hunter did a special Trophy Hunter edition for this game.
111 Stars, 44 comet medals. I just finished Rainbow Road Roll in World S and have all crowns up to that point, including fucking Luigi's Purple Coin Chaos in the Mario Squared Galaxy. I had actually been dreading going back and trying that bitch again because it was so difficult but Rosalina showing me the way really helped a lot! It's hard to pick which galaxy has been the one I hated the worst. The thing that sticks out in my mind as the most frustrating is probably that spring mushroom. Even my cracker-jack 11 year old got frustrated at that shit! I hope I don't run into it again before I finish this last world (but don't tell me if I will). Which part have y'all been most frustrated at? *edit* Also, did you know that SMG2 is one of only 8 games that Gamespot has given a perfect 10 rating to?
141 Stars and all 48 Comet Medals. I've got all of the Green Stars in World 1. 7, technically. They gave Grand Theft Auto IV a 10 on both 360 and PS3. That's kind of cheap.
Has anyone else gotten the beta for the new medal of honor yet? I wanted to know what other peoples opinion is, as for me I got sick of the team assault map petty quick but the rush map is seems fine, although the limited choice of weaponry available was annoying at first but i enjoyed upgrading my m4 carbine.
I have it, my understanding is that the servers wouldn't be open until today so i haven't been able to try anything out, but I will be tonight.
What do I need to do after I collect all 120 regular stars? Go back and beat Bowser again? I think that's what that one green star was trying to tell me. I know I have to go find 120 green stars but I suspect there's something I have to do before that.
Yes. Once you've collected every Power/Grand Star, you should have brought two green Lumas aboard Starship Mario. One of them mentions the "monster" and that means you have to go and beat Bowser again.
Transformers: War for Cybertron: If you were a fan of Transformers as a kid, you NEED to get this game. I've always wondered why they never made a good Transformers game, but I wonder no more. This game is fun as hell. The campaign mode is solid as hell, although it is a bit short (I'm 70% of the way through after 7 hours.) The multiplayer is fucking incredible though. There are 4 classes, and you can customize them all with starting weapons, 2 special ablities, 3 perks, and chassis/colors. There is also 3 player co-op and Escalation mode, which is like Horde mode in Gears of War.
I picked this up yesterday and yea, it is a lot of fun. It really isn't anything amazing or special but it is still entertaining. I only have two real complaints. My first is that many of the Transformers in the game look like a Michael Bay creation and something from Transformers Animated had a baby by a nuclear power plant. The other is the multiplayer gameplay. I knew this going in because of the online demo that was released, but holy fuck, it takes FOREVER to kill something. I cannot find a proper weapon that can kill an enemy without having to empty either a full clip or having to have really lucky aim firing off rockets or cannons if they're not in robot mode. Even then, I fired four thermo rocket launchers (they lock on) into a soldier in tank mode and he STILL was alive and well. The only weapon that 1-2 shots is the scientist 7 kill streak reward which is a giant launcher weapon that you carry around but can't swap weapons of transform without it dropping for someone else to grab. Anyway, its still a fun game and considering I got it almost for free I am happy with it.(bought it at Best Buy and the code to redeem Jazz that was included is currently at $50 on eBay with 5 hours to go)
Fusion Cannon, X12 Scrapmaker, Scatter Blaster, Null Ray, and the Ion Blaster have given me the most success. Also, don't overlook your vehicle weapons (esp. Tank and Truck) and melee attack. The melee is seriously devastating. Using a Leader with Fusion Cannon, Ion Blaster, Warcry, and Molecular Bomb I've had multiple 18-24 kill 1-5 death games. Killing people isn't as hard as you make it out to be.
Yup, said something about moving there servers, i only got the message once, i got 30 minutes left on my train time, fuckers better have it up before it is done.
For the Super Mario Bros. crossover fans out there: The creator of the game linked to a site where you can generate a save point that will start at the level of your choosing with however many lives, powers, gold etc you want. I love starting at level 8-3 with everyone with flower power. That's the level with no crazy jumps, just lots of enemies, making it the perfect level for using powers. Bill is obviously diesel in this level. Also v1.1 should be out tomorrow! Holy fucking shit!
Bought and been playing Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time because it's widely regarded as one of the best DS games and I do enjoy a decent RPG, but I've gotta say... I will immediately sell this game as soon as I'm done with it. It's fun, yes, but it's not particularly challenging and I can already tell that it has zero replay value. Some of the gags are getting old, too. Yes, Luigi is a massive fuckup. I get it.
Sorry for posting again so soon, but SMC v1.1 has been released on the creator's site, not newgrounds. Ryu is fun as hell to play as and Simon causes fewer headaches. I've only played a little bit and haven't figured out how to activate cheats or the "Mario always swimming" thing that's at the end of the trailer, if anyone figures that out please let me know.
