Dude... multiplayer. The singleplayer is really just there to familiarize you with the maps and how the game works.
Tekken X Street Fighter announced at Comic-Con. This is probably going to be the first fighting game I've gotten since Tekken 3. Heres a video too!!
I've done a little multiplayer with the kids/husband but it wasn't that great, even playing as an infected. I presume it's better with a bunch of players, right? My shit isn't hooked up to the net but even if it was, does anyone play L4D1 anymore? And in case you couldn't tell from one of my previous sentences: not a dude but I appreciate the input just the same.
It's designed to be a multiplayer game so I could see how you would be disappointed without having experienced it. I play LFD2, but from my understanding plenty of people still play one.
Picked up SC2 at Midnight. In love already. Username: DCHavok Look forward to seeing some of you on there. I need to brush up on multiplayer badly, I didn't get into the beta.
I picked it up at midnight as well and I am currently "home sick" and plan on playing it all damn day. I only played the first two missions last night, but so far I absolutely love it. Its the same tried and true gameplay from the original StarCraft, just better, and it looks amazing. Luckily I can set all the graphics settings to Ultra and it still runs like a dream. I'll post some more thoughts later after I've played for awhile and spent some time with the multiplayer too.
I wholeheartedly agree, although I wasn't able to call in a sick day. The best thing about the game is that the mechanics are basically the same as the original. I played through the first couple missions and it seems as if Terran land units may be a bit overpowered, but I haven't dove into multiplayer to find out for sure. The graphics are amazing, no matter the level setting and the story line seems just as solid as the original. I think thats what sets Blizzard apart from everyone else is just how in-depth and superior their story lines/lore are in their dedicated games (Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft). While it's definitely not a world changer like the first one was, it still finds a way to build upon the successes of the last and be a damned good game...and thats just within the first few levels. I can't wait to get deeper into it.
I don't want to be a dick and brag about this, but I am a dick, and I'm going to brag. Friend's husband works for Blizzard. I'm getting SC2 for $10. Should be here Thursday. I can tell you now my name will be Javenrei, sounds Protoss to me. *Pushes up nerd glasses* Definitely excited to get some board multiplayer going. I don't want to run into any Koreans, that shit isn't even funny.
So gamestop fucked me (kinda) I put in my pre-order from them months ago to get into the beta, and I assume when they shipped it I would get it on release day. So fucking wrong...they just shipped me the game today. I'll be getting it on the 30-31st. I'm half tempted to just go buy it right now and give someone who needs one a copy. Oh well, fuck gamestop.
I don't remember how but I stumbled across a listing on eBay for Chrono Trigger for the SNES and they wanted 50 bucks for it! I'm thinking to myself "I used to have that game." It's one of the only RPGs I could stand to play. Hubby found it today with a few other games (Pilotwings, DKC2, Mystic Quest) and our SNES still works! Now I can school my kids on how video games were back in the day!
Not a fan of Madden by any means. I actually haven't even bought a football game since NFL 2k5, probably the best NFL based football game ever made. (Going out on a limb, I love 2k series). I downloaded the demo and it was actually pretty fun. The graphics seem to be alot better and some of the new features are pretty cool. I also probably liked it because I think it was on the easiest difficulty, I won like 52 to 14.
So after about 7-8 missions, I am finding StarCraft 2 to be fucking awesome. They have really outdone themselves with the design of the missions this time around, I am really impressed. They have managed to change things up enough that it keeps things fresh. In the past, RTS games have been basically the same old thing mission after missions. "Build up your base, research tech, build an army and take out the enemy. Next mission: same thing with a little more tech and more enemies. Wash, rinse, repeate." Not this time though, they have come up with some pretty interesting concepts.
Any of those old games that we still talk about today, anything old we know and love all the way from Super Mario II, to Final Fantasy VII can be upwards of 40-60 dollars on Ebay. The Madden demo was amazing. I'm so surprised there focus was to make it easier and shorter. The gameplan thing I thought was stupid. "Who asked for this stupid shit?" Then started enjoying it once I played the whole game and realized it didn't repeat itself once the whole game. And Gus Johnson, fucking Gus Johnson doing play-by-play. Yes. Thank you, Yes. And in closing, buy SC2. Don't do digital download unless you have a god-like connection. 6.99GB client is a bitch and a half. Downloading now. I'll be able to play by like...8pm CT.
Can we get a list of SC2 names going so eventually we can get nice little private mutliplayer going? I kept mine simple, sorry for lying. It's Parker.
I've been playing StarCraft II pretty much non-stop since I got it yesterday afternoon. My username is the same as the one I use for this board.
My SC2 name is Stokes and my ID number is 497 Basically SC2 is amazing. The level of polish and attention to detail blizzard puts into their games is nothing short of astounding.
my SC2 name is 'Fernanthones' (almost the same as here, but they only let you use 12 letters...bastards). So far I have only played 1 multiplayer match, but I got my ass handed to me by a banshee rush that I was completely unprepared for.
Got SC2 the other night. I haven't touched the multiplayer must since I played the hell out of it in the beta and got kind of bored. The campaign is pretty fun for an RTS campaign. So far it is the only one I haven't used all the crazy cheats immediately. The only problem with me playing it legit on Brutal difficulty is that it gets fucking annoyingly hard. I've completed roughly half of the missions and now I'm stuck on a few to choose from that are all stupid hard in the last half of the mission. Most of it stems down to the enemy hitting your base with small to medium attack waves throughout the missions while you have to dedicate your forces to pushing another part of the map. Sounds kind of easy, but do that with very limited resources because you're gonna have an even harder time keeping any expansions up when the enemies path right through them to get to your main. Anyway, I'll add you guys here but you can always add me. Name is Thorgouge, character code is 833. I'm not even going to get into the issues with the new battle.net since I already did that here months ago, but fucking add chat channels for fuck's sake. Oh, and guys, put your character code in your post along with your name as well. I don't think there is a way to add anyone with only their name unless that name is your email address.
My character name is "Deadlift" and my character code is 641. Add me if you want to run some games. Oh and I finished the campaign yesterday on brutal, and I have to say that the last mission is one of the most difficult missions for any game I've ever played. Also, the ending was satisfactory and had enough closure to keep me happy with enough left open ended for the next two in the series. BIG two thumbs up.
