I was just thinking that recently. I remember last summer when I had a shitload of free time there was a real lack of any newly released games that were real quality. Now we have Dragon Age (awesome btw), Demon's Souls, Borderlands, MW2, and God of War 3 coming out pretty soon along with many others. Not like I actually need to study for finals or anything anyways...
Haha, I know the feeling. I always find myself straffe-shooting on these console shooters too. It's a horrible habit from my CounterStrike days. I wonder if you ever get to pick more than 3 killstreaks (e.g. if you prestige you now get to choose 4, on the second prestige you get to select 5, etc...).
So I Pre-ordered MW2 3 months ago. When does it say it's going to arrive? Oh yeah, 11/18. REALLY? IT CAME OUT YESTERDAY AND I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER WEEK EVEN THOUGH I PAYED MORE AND GAVE YOU MORE TIME TO PROCESS EVERYTHING? Fuck you Walmart.
Why would you pre-order from Wal-Mart? There are never any lines to pick up the games and they usually get hundreds of copies. When I went at midnight there were maybe 5 people waiting for it while across the parking lot at gamestop there was like 300. I picked it up for the PC. Anyone else?
Honestly, games aren't like consoles they can pump out enough to satisfy any demand and then some. I've got to save up a little bit and will be getting the game in the next few weeks. I really don't see any scenario where I'd walk into a Best Buy/Wal-Mart and not find a copy.
I've only played a couple hours of multiplayer for MW2. But so far, it has perfectly blended the tactical nature of games like Counterstrike with the fun-ness of Goldeneye. I know the first one kind of did it, but it's perfected here. And single player...holy shit. I was up till 4 in the morning last night because I couldn't stop until finishing it. Take all of the crazy shit and plot twists of the first one and multiply by 10. It was almost like a more realistic version of a Metal Gear game.
(Modern Warfare 2) They really kicked PC gamers in the nuts with this one. No dedicated servers, no custom maps/mods. I'll be sure to buy it when Infinity Ward gets their heads out of their asses and unfucks the PC platform.
Not sure how many PS3/360 owners we got on here, but if there's enough interest it might be fun to start up an Idiot Board MW2 clan/squad for each respective system. Post if interested.
I'm on PS3 and would be down to join up, but for some reason I can't get online with it. it is getting onto the internet and other games just fine, but MW2 just won't do it.
Yes, please. PS3. Ty, I haven't tried going online yet, but a lot of people were telling me they couldn't, either.
Would you guys/gals find it handy to have a special "usergroup" for XBL and PS3? I'm thinking it might help to add a custom profile tag of "gamertags" to everyone's profile, and then creating an XBL and PS3 user group that you can join. You'd then be able to see who the members of each group are, and then send a PM to that particular group. For instance, if you're online and looking to play, a group PM to the XBL or PS3 group would help hooking everyone up. Thoughts?
Fellows: Today my buddy Don introduced me to yet another computer game. "Grand Theft Auto". Holy mackerel. If you've never played it, play it. I sat there for several hours getting into fights with cops, women, bums, stealing cars, running people over with cars, and just being a general a$$hole. We played it on his X-Box, but I just ordered six different versions of the game to play on my 'puter. I think it was six, anyway. There's a whole bunch available. One through five, plus other variations. I hope it's as much fun on my computer as his X-box. I like Halo either way, so we shall see. Give it a shot. Nothing like it. Very anti-social. Very appropriate.
That could be a pretty kickass idea. Apparently there was a massive server overload, more people playing than it could handle. I was able to log on late last night and play. Here's what we got so far as MW2 goes XBL - Kratos - Forecheck PSN - Dmix3 - Voorhees TyTy - ? Heather - Bread Mustache & Fernathonies are down, just don't know what system they are playing on.
Was this a joke? What's up 2002. If not, go straight to Grand Theft Auto 3 and work your way up if you want. IV is the newest and most detailed but I think San Andreas has the biggest overall map. As far as the User Group that Nettdata proposed, I'm all for it. Good idea to post it on the meet up thread as well?
Just finished MW2's singleplayer, enjoyed it thoroughly but I was disappointed with some of the plotholes. Spoiler How did Price end up in the gulag? Why did Shepherd need to kill Ghost and Roach, what threat did they pose? Also the whole scenario with the nuke was hard to grasp (according to wikipedia Price rigged the Nuke to explode in space, leaving the EMP to trash all the electronics in DC. I'll admit it's been a awhile since I played the first game but those are some things that stood out to me. Also looking to play some spec ops, 360-Mikebegood
I'd be interested to know everyone's setups for Weapons/Perks/Killstreaks for multiplayer on MW2: My main: Primary: M4A1 Primary Attachment: ACOG Scope (w/ FMJ) Secondary: Magnum Perk 1: Bling Pro Perk 2: Hardline Pro Perk 3: Commando Pro Secondary: Primary: P90 Primary Attachment: Red Dot Sight Secondary: Whatever Machine Pistol works Perk 1: Marathon Pro Perk 2: Hardline Pro Perk 3: Commando Pro (will probably switch to Ninja once I get it) Killstreaks: UAV - 3 Kills (2 with Hardline) Harrier Strike - 7 Kills (6 with Hardline) Pavelow - 9 Kills (8 with Hardline) Also, I was playing with a guy yesterday who earned 3 nukes while we played with him (in TDM). It was unreal to watch the guy.
