Have you tried the online aspect yet? I just got started tonight and got through sequence 1, and started sequence 2 in the memories. I then spent a good 30 minutes playing the online component. I only did the death-match first part, where you are hunting another player, while other players are hunting you. It can be shockingly frustrating to knife someone in the neck, only to have the person tailing you come up and stab you in the back. There are some nifty bonuses you can get as you level up, though, that can make hiding easier. I haven't tried any other game mode, but I've never been a great team player, so I'm probably not going to be high on the team games. Anyone wants to play some AC: Brotherhood death matches on PS3, look me up. PSN name is dante914.
I quit playing WoW about a year ago, but I'm kind of tempted to start again with this expansion about to come out. I haven't read much about it other than the new races, and revamped old world zones. Are there any warcraft nerds here that will return to check this thing out?
I already preordered on Amazon (comes with a $10 gaming credit and free release date delivery for Prime members). I'd just buy it at a midnight release, but I have finals on the 7th so I'm making myself finish them before I can play. Basically, everyone will be like level 83 while I'm still 80, but oh well. I don't have high hopes for it, as WoW has been shit since the beginning of the first expansion. The only thing luring me is that it's taking us back to old Azeroth. I'm sure it will be nothing like the original, but I'm sure it will be fun for a month or two, just like WOTLK. A friend of mine got into the beta and I screwed around on it for a while but never got around to wanting to level when it would just be deleted.
I reactivated and upgraded my account yesterday. They are apparently already doing a whole bunch of stuff in the game now leading up to the expansion, elemental invasions of the main cities and shit like that. I'll probably play some over the weekend, assuming I can get my patches current since they take so damned long to download.
Terrible. You should all play Eve Online, because... well. This is the meaning of the word "bittervet".
I put 5 years in EVE online. Quit twice. I'm never going back. You have to have a certain type of life to play that game. People overplay WoW because they're retarded. People overplay EvE because you never reach a level cap, you never ever will have the best of everything. You can go to sleep with everything one way, and you can wake up and shit is totally different. I couldn't take that type of stress. You also had to not run the game in the game, you had to come out and run the message boards too. Fuck all of that. Too much is too much.
I'm only about 6 months in, which is nothing compared to some people, but I've had some success in keeping it relatively low-key... I've got little interest in huge lag-infested 0.0 battles for the glory of one alliance or another. I'd much rather run around doing solo PvP and that sort of thing. Of course, I really suck at the game.
You know, I've never really liked racing games at all, but Gran Turismo 5 looks pretty awesome. I'm a little tempted to pick it up.
Has anyone been using the Kinect? Specifically, has anyone tried the fighting games with the Kinect? They look interesting, but I can't find any decent reviews/footage of someone using it that has any idea what they're doing. Every vid I've seen has been of a closet, fan boy ninja who can't co-ordinate his arms and legs worth a damn. I'd rather not get it if I have to go dead slow or only make big exaggerated movements.
My friend got the Kinect, and it's fucking awful. It does a horrible job of registering movement if you're wearing dark shirts (as I did at the time), and requires players that are really tall (I'm 6' 5") to stand much further back, or else it won't record their movement properly. If you're going to get motion controls, get the PS Move. By far the best one out there.
Jesus christ what a fantastic advertisement that does not make me want to play the game. Only want to watch this.
KIMaster is right about the PSMove, and it hurts me to admit any time he is right. For 9.99 I bought the game Tumble, and its the most fucking fun I've had with anything that was 9.99. In response to rep comments about EVE, I actually did run a corporation. It was doing pretty well for a long time, you think you have smart people be directors for you. Then you take a day off, come back and it is in all but shambles. My problem is, I'll join another corporation, try to be low-key, and you can't help but notice all the problems of them running it, and look, I'm a director doing all the work again. Fuck. So now I play League of Legends, and might play WoW casually again because I have RL friends that play and I used to play Warcraft so I love the lore.
Aye, i just play to kill shit when i do. And stay as far away from the politics as i can. One of my corp mates plays LoL, he got me to try it, just another time waster, but it is free.
Aren't all games time wasters unless you're playing pro? Anyway, I meant to quote the NFS video because I think this is the best NFS they put out since Underground 2. About damn time they got the racing right. I still think Split/Second is the best racing game that is not called GT5 though. That game was crack cocaine. If they combined Blur with Split/Second, it'd be the best arcade racing game ever made.
Fuck. YES. I'm getting GT5 delivered to my doorstep today and I'm not even paying full price. Feeling giddy as shit. I've been waiting for this game since GT4 for the PS2, refused to buy the Prologue because I felt that would've been a waste of money. Glad I waited. Look at it! As someone else said on this thread: Hermit T-minus, 2 hours.
And it actually has a pretty decent difficulty. I liked Undercover but it was almost too easy. This one actually gives you a challenge.
I don't know maybe it's just me but I played the shit out of GT3 and thought it was boring as fuck. I remember the AI sucking a fat dick, something that HAS to be improved over that crap Im guessing in the new one. I don't know maybe Im not a simulator type of gamer but car customizations were really limited and half the race was devoted to tire heat/wear.
Just a heads up to people looking for good deals on games. Amazon is having sales on games throughout the week and there have been some pretty good deals. I got Batman: Arkham Asylum for the 360 along with Resident Evil 4 for the Wii for about $25. The deals change everyday and throughout the day but here's the website http://www.amazon.com/Outlet/b/ref=br_l ... ode=409566
