I've started doing Cho'Gath AP builds in 3v3. Just get Boots of Swiftness and then as much AP as you can possibly get. The last game I did was insane. 2v3 with me on the side with one man down and I just destroyed the 2 heroes (Fiddlesticks and Twisted Fate) that were up against me every time. Rupture did like 305+400 damage alone at the end, not to mention the level 3 Feast.

I ended up succumbing to temptation and went with AC2, namely because it was much cheaper than Civ 5 (obviously) and I'm really antsy to play Brotherhood after watching the trailers for both the single-player and multiplayer. I tuned out of the series after the first one left me intrigued, yet mildly disappointed, but Brotherhood has been getting such amazing reviews across the board that I'd be remiss not to give it a whirl. I've even heard whispers that the multiplayer is much better than Black Ops (up until now, I've never played non-COD games online). If that's true, given that I'm partial to stealth play in COD anyway, Brotherhood may be a fastball in my wheelhouse.

Thanks for the input, though. If AC2 sucks, I won't say I wasn't warned. I'm just a stickler for the story. I'll most certainly get around to the other two games at some point. Unless I get distracted and go play the Batman: Arkham games first...

If I were you I'd get distracted, Batman:Arkham Asylum is THE best superhero video game ever made and a very close second to Uncharted 2 as 2009's game of the year. Plus Arkham City is due for release later this year and from all accounts thus far it's even better than Arkham Asylum.

Not to mention the stealth sections of AA are far better than the stealth sections of AC2.

    I'll add a few things:

Batman: Arkham Asylum really is the best super hero game I've ever played. It is just an absolutely amazing game, and I cannot WAIT for Arkham City.

As for AC, I really enjoyed ACII, and Brotherhood. The multiplayer on Brotherhood was excellent. I always had a blast playing it. You had learn to watch closely for even the most minor strange movement, as at any moment someone could pop out of a group of NPCs walking past and stab you in the face (literally, there are animations that involve getting stabbed in the face). The focus isn't so much on getting tons of kills, but getting good, quality stealth kills. I've gotten 3 kills and won the round over people who finish with 8 to 10 kills. How? High quality kills. People who just run around on the rooftops and use the gun usually end up losing in the long run.

Yeah, I saw that written by a few people on this thread. I'd still like to experience them both firsthand, but I'll take your guys' word for it for the time being. Some of the gameplay I saw on YouTube looked pretty sick. And the trailer for Arkham City looks amazing, though I'm less familiar with Hugo Strange than I am with other Batman villains.

Speaking of the Uncharted series, how good is it? That's another one on my queue I've been mulling over. I don't know much about the premise other than what I've read online, but reviews are typically favorable. To me, it looks like "GTA meets the great outdoors." Thoughts?

Ah, that much I was not aware of. Now I'm very anxious to play. The downside of my COD experience comes from my gameplay: I'm typically a stealthy player, opting for the patient kill rather than racking up as high of a kill count as I can. Naturally, this means I don't tend to finish high on the scoreboard (particularly in Free-For-All, where the raw number of kills determines the winner, as opposed to K/D).

Playing a game that puts a greater emphasis on stealth/patience plays perfectly into what I'm comfortable with.

The Uncharted series is the pinnacle of action-adventure gaming. Be it graphics, gameplay or story it's better than anything else out there. In the "Can videogames be considered art?" argument I would submit Uncharted 2 as the basis of the "Yes" argument. It has character depth, nonstop action and a story that rivals most Hollywood blockbusters.

Uncharted 2 is easily in my top three games of all time, if not number 1. Though sadly Rob, if I'm not mistaken you play on the 360, which means unless you pick up a PS3, you won't be playing it anytime soon.

A title exclusive to PlayStation? I didn't realize that still happened anymore. Seems like 99% of the time, any game available on PS2 or PS3 is already available on Xbox.

Or maybe I just don't pay close enough attention. Speaking of which, I got my February issue of Game Informer in the mail just now. I'm gonna go chill out and read up on the awesomeness of my geeky world.

A big patch hit LoL today. Including the new champion, Renekton. Other stuff includes, nerfing Panth's stun on his jump, nerfing Eve's stun. Been trying to sign on and check it all out, but no dice all day.

Wow, looks like they nerfed about half of the Champs. Good thing they didn't change how awesome Fiddlesticks is.

And that new guy looks pretty decent. Gonna have to give him a try soon.

No Sion nerf either. I think once I get the IP I might give Twitch a try. I've played against him a couple times now and he can be brutal.

Holy shit, I just started playing League of Legends. I played for about 5 hours straight, fun as fuck. I'm TheWheelz, if anyone wants to add me.

I played a couple of games, but would appreciate someone showing how to play.

I'm on a Mac, so keep me out of the LoL discusion but...

Anyone play Alpha Protocol? I'm already bored of New Vegas and B.O. can't seem to connect to servers or let me join games without freezing and it looked intriguing.

What are everyone's thoughts on the upcoming Jurassic Park game? It's set for a spring release, and is supposedly going to be the first of a new series. JP games have been very underwhelming thus far, but this month's Game Informer gives some details that sound very promising. To wit: puzzles and investigating (which apparently is Telltale Games' niche), exploring iconic moments of the movie (such as the can of embryos that Nedry drops in the mud), and a supposed balance between heavy exploring and very high-paced moments, with an emphasis on the cinematic experience. To me, that sounds a bit like Mass Effect, only with dinosaurs (mind you, I think that'd be an awesome concept). There's also going to be a new dinosaur, a nocturnal one not seen in the movie. I'm wondering if it's the Carnotaurus from The Lost World novel, which was only a threat at night for some inexplicable reason.

An interview with Telltale indicates that Jurassic Park will have gameplay mechanics and story structure similar to Heavy Rain, though I never played that game. Could anyone who has played it chime in on whether that would that be a good or a bad thing?

Either way, I plan on picking it up. I can relive my childhood, and the graphics also look promising, judging from the screenshots.

I played the original Genesis side scroller to fucking death. There was a unlimited weapons code that made the game ten times more fun. Shit was real. It had a shitty sequel though. I also had the Sega CD game and it was fucking terrible. I could probably dig a good Jurassic Park game now. I havent played Heavy Rain but from what Ive heard about the Uncharted games, another set of games I need to play, Id think it be better going that route. That reminds me, there was a level in the original Tomb Raider that had a T-rex trapped in a under ground cave. It ran out of the darkness with similar ground shaking intensity of the movie scene. It was an exciting level I played it a thousand times.

Speaking of which, I'm definitely getting the new one, whenever it comes out. Lara's had a makeover, and, well...rawr. This was their January issue's cover:

Actually its not a make-over per se, its a pre-quel, pre-quel, so that's young and youthful Lara.

What are the best weapons for that girl with the cannon shooter? I've gotten pretty decent with her, managed to have an even K/D.
