I guess the LoL talk has kinda fallen off but Lux is THE SHIT. 4 deaths in 5 games, 3 forced surrenders in a row, like 10000 assists, and one game i was even getting fed enough to turn my Death Star laser on and get 10 kills. Awesome.

Fuck whoever suggested this game though, or brought it up, because it is destroying my free time, and I'm gonna fail my hard-as-shit Greek class because ONE MORE GAME...

I've just been on a huge losing streak lately. Like 12 of the last 15 and its put me under .500 W/L. Combination of horrible teammates, horrible team compositions and my own bad decisions. If it wasn't for some funny teammates in vent I would've quit by now.

Anyone else get Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam? I got it a few days ago and I like it better than BC2. Although theres not as many weapons/mods (yet), the retarded frustrations with kit loading and overpowered helicopters are gone. The downside is, anyone can shoot down a chopper with a sub machine gun, which is bullshit.

I went against a Lux this weekend that got feed early and was dominating. Seemed though endgame she got pretty week. I think she was 13-0-2 at one point and ended up like 15-9-3 or something. Maybe it was just the player not going against a complete retard feeding her and she really wasn't that good.

KZ2 is a different game, and I'm looking forward to the third. I think the storyline has been held back on purpose for whatever they're dropping in the third one. I love playing through the games, the first one I loved the 4 character rotation thing and some of the dialog that went on during the fight. I think the 3rd one is finally going to be what they want to do with it instead of just trying to get the graphics right which is primarily where they went with it.

And I think I was the first one to drop LoL in this thread and Konatown brought it back up after it died off. You're welcome, and I'm not paying for you to retake the class. My old college roommate got me into it, and now that fucker doesn't even play where I get the shakes if I don't get at least 3 matches in a day.

Downloaded Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines off of Steam yesterday and loving it. Essentially it's Grand Theft Auto, but with vampires and some rpg elements thrown in. The most recent quest I finished involved finding a bounty hunter that was being held by a serial killer who used a severed arm as his weapon. How did I kill said serial killer I hear none of you asking? By making him vomit up blood until he died.

Probably going to download the first Knights of the Old Republic this weekend since I've never gotten to play those before. And also going to try to install Planescape: Torment. I played Planescape for a little bit but didn't get very far. I did enjoy what I got to play of it, though.

Didn't watch the video as I am on a teensy break from playing for a minute (I have to be at work at 5:30 so I have to get in as much playing as I can before hand) but the gameplay is JUST like the first Dead Space. Same physics, same inventory, same comm system. Not that I'm complaining in the slightest. I very much dug the first game and, at a couple of hours in, I am already hooked on the second. Of course, I don't have 60 bucks to spend on a game right now so I rented it from the local video store and am plowing through it on the easy difficulty but still. Fantastic so far.

*edit* the little blurb under the video's title says this:

That would probably be a woman, Captain Observant.

*double edit* Just watched the video. Yikes! I stand corrected (and a little perplexed)! Grody.

    Slight spoiler alert:

I do have one gripe about the inventory system (I actually came back to say this):
You can stack, lets say 3 stasis packs in one inventory slot. To move them to your safe, you have to move them all - you can't just move one or two. Really frustrating!
I don't remember it being that way in the first one, though admittedly it's been a while since I've played it.

Has anybody else played Valkyria Chronicles much?

It's been out quite a while now so it's quite cheap but I really enjoy playing it. If you've played UFO: Enemy Unknown back in the '90s it's got a similar turn based system like that except you move the characters in first person. The story is done a lot like the Final Fantasy series - good but can be really childish at times.

I found the gameplay so addictive I had to leave it at my parents as I wasn't getting anything done.

I know it's an older game but I've been playing Spiderman: Web of Shadows lately and have been loving it. It takes most of the best parts of playing Spiderman 2 and adds a shit ton more, the best is being able to switch between the red and blue suit and the black suit at the push of a button with each suit having its own strengths and weaknesses. I can't tell you how many nerdgasms I've had switching suits while web slinging in the air or between combos in a fight. This game is WAY better than the horribly linear Shattered Dimensions.

Agreed, the only things in common are that you level up and you get to play the most annoying game of 52 card pickup every fucking time you kill something.

I actually did not like Borderlands because:

1.) As mentioned above picking shit up off the ground is ridiculously tedious, especially if there's a new gun mixed in with ammo and you accidentally auto equip it when you pick it up.
2.) You have a tiny inventory that fills up every 5 minutes, then you have to either trek back to a shop to unload it or just leave shit on the ground (something my inner jew* won't allow).

But most importantly, and I HATE to admit this considering how so many people were claiming it was too easy

3.) I sucked at it, hard. I was level 19 struggling with some of the level 15 missions, WHY THE FUCK DOES IT TAKE SEVEN HEAD SHOTS TO KILL A FUCKING LEVEL 15 DOG THING AND WHY DO I ONLY GET 1 EXPERIENCE POINT!?!?. My days as a competitive gamer are clearly over.

*Not actually Jewish but I fit most of the stereotypes

Have any of you LoL players used Tryndamere? I might have asked this before, but I was playing last night for a couple games and I dominated end game. I was able to take out guys with 5000+ hp with maybe 4 hits, my attack speed was maybe 1.7/sec and attack power was nearing 400 with my crit chance between 60-80%. I would destroy everyone that came in front of me. Only problem with his is working up to that point, does anyone have any advice for beginning game with Tryn?

Dead Space 2 improves on the original in every aspect.

Environments are more detailed, graphics are sharper, the music adjusts seamlessly depending on what's happening in the story.

Even the story line is fleshed out and brings you in without cut scenes being obnoxiously long like Metal Gear.

Early call, but I'm nominating Dead Space 2 for one of the best games of 2011.

    9/10

    It's a tranny. No shit.

Anyway, to not be off topic, I really want to play DS2, but I have a lot of games I want to play...and I'm still sucked into World of Warcraft pretty bad.

Also, Monday Night Combat is on steam now and I think I'm gonna pick it up. Anyone else tried it?

I tried him two or three times and totally agree he was pretty shitty beginning. I didn't really do any research so there may be some good tips out there but he just didn't stick with me so I went back to Sion.

I see this week Rammus is on the rotation so I may give him a shot for something different. I may try Miss Fortune too if I get enough time. Anybody try them and like/dislike them?

Tryndamere is a carry, so yeah, he needs to be fed early on and backed up by others, but he can do amazing amounts of damage. Never got the hang of him myself, though.

Rammus is pretty fun too, but you definately need a good teammate to lane with. I can usually keep him back pretty easily when playing a champ that has any range.

Miss Fortune like most of the elite champions (6300 IP Cost) can be deadly and is relatively versatile. She can go AD or AP which makes her flexible too.

Trynd is best used with Lifesteal and a ton of AD. When you leave off the Lifesteal you're dead after his ultimate finishes. If he uses it, he can recover life when the people around him are low health.

    Fuck motion sickness.

The first time I played Uncharted, I started to feel nausous. The second time I played, I did well, and didn't have a problem.

Went in and played today, during the jet skiing up the river portion, and damn near vomited. Fuck, this better not be another great game I can't play because of motion sickness.

Picked up Starcraft 2 a bit less than a month ago. If any of you are playing it (especially those around Gold/Plat), feel free to add me.

    Name: Cainam
    Code: 797

Gold league Zerg at the moment. I've come really far from what was ~ a 5-15 start though. I'm especially looking for ZvZ practice if any of you play Zerg and are Silver/Gold/Plat.

Yeah I don't use Tryndamere personally but have observed that he's extremely weak before level 6. Your best bet is to just try to last hit minions and avoid conflict until you get your ultimate.

The best advice for him is to learn the distance of your blade spin and find out which walls you can go through on Twisted Treeline and Summoner's Rift. Also, get the red buff ALL THE TIME. People will bitch at you. Do it anyway. In combination with your shout/slow and blade spin, it makes him one of the best chasers in the game.

I'm level 30 with about 200ish wins on League, play some ranked now and then, and by no means an expert, but the best advice I would give those of you who are just starting out is to learn to jungle. Jungling is basically killing the neutral minions on the map in a certain rotation to maximize your experience and gold gain. From summoner level 1-20, almost no one does this. It's really effective for a couple of reasons.

    1. On Summoner's Rift, having a jungler means that your team gets to put 2 solo players in lanes and 1 duo lane. Typically you will choose a carry for mid and a ranged attacker to 2 v 1 on top, but a skilled tank or farmer like jax can do OK too. It's best to put two players bottom to control the dragon spawn. Doing this makes your carries level faster than the people they are in lane with, setting them up for a strong mid game and excellent late game.

    2. Being in the jungle means you are never on the map, which means that people can't call MIAs on you. So you should gank all lanes when they overextend.

    3. Once you get the hang of it, the spawn timers on the mobs in the jungle are super easy to memorize and get a feel for. I never miss a blue or red spawn anymore. If you already have the buff, start killing it and type to your carry to come finish it off. These buffs makes a big difference in teamfights, especially golem/blue.

    3. If they don't have a jungler, you are even more effective because they will not have timers on their neutral spawns. So you not only control your half of the neutral creeps, you get to kill their neutrals as well, meaning your team now feeds off of a larger share of the map's experience and gold than your opponents.

    4. Dragon. The dragon on summoner's rift gives everyone on your team 190g, plus 25 gold to the person who killed it. That's the equivalent of a 3 kill differential between your team's totals. 2 dragon kills can bring you back from a bad start or cement an early advantage.

I run a WW jungle build and don't quite have all of my runes, but I can level at almost the same pace as the mid player until level 5 or so. That's a huge advantage when you consider that 3 of your players are leveling at that increased pace versus only 1 of theirs.

Top tier junglers: Warwick, Shaco, Nunu, Fiddlesticks, Udyr. You can make a case for Trundle, Jax, Shen, etc, but if you are just starting out I would suggest one of those from the first list. Of those, Shaco, Nunu, and Fiddles are the easiest to get the hang of and require the fewest runes to do well.

Youtube is your best friend to find the spawn rotations, although some of the paths are outdated now. Jungling is not any harder or better than learning to lane really well and dominate in creep score, but it brings an advantage to your team and it's amazingly fun when you get the hang of it.
