Couple of scenes from Shawshank. One of my favorite scenes because it shows what a killer actor Bob Gunton is is when he comes down to the hole and taunts and threatens Andy into continuing the money laundering. His speech pattern is so eloquently evil and he is quietly one of the greatest villains in screen history. Gunton has said he was getting six figure residual checks well into the 2000s from this movie because it was such a cult hit. The ending is pure perfection.
That year, the Best Picture nominees included Shawshank, Quiz Show and Pulp Fiction. Best picture and director goes to Forrest Gump. Shawshank is possibly the only cult film that achieved its cult status strictly on how great it is as a movie.
I've always been a fan of Spaghetti Westerns, and I think this is probably the best shootout of them all: Ramon's face when he keeps getting back up is priceless.
If you ever wanted to illustrate how amazing John Williams is, watch the opening of the Battle of Endor and realize that the first full minute is just a montage of the fleet assembling literally light years from any danger, and yet you're already on the edge of your seat because Williams is just hyping it the whole way.
