Well, I'm a certified... Avalanche detection noob? Finished the AST1 (Avalanche Safety training 1) course today. Spend the majority of yesterday in a classroom and all of today of the side of Burstall Pass. Learned I need to buy myself some touring boots and better weather gear. Taking the AST2 course next weekend, it's a four day course, up in Rogers Pass. I'm really looking forward to this one, one day in class and three on the mountains. Should be interesting, the entire area is rated with considerable to high avalanche warnings.
I admit I don't always pay enough attention around here . . . but, I thought you were a nanny. Is being drunk while in charge of children not frowned upon anymore?
