All the California peeps here on the TiB need to remember to get out and vote yes on Prop 19 on November 2nd for the legalization of weed. This will set a precedence for the government to fuck off and will take away penalties for possession of small amounts of weed for any 21 and over. Good luck California. I think there are a lot more important things in this country than Marijuana legalization. Even though I do smoke it, I'm indifferent to the whole issue. But it would be worth it just to piss off the DEA.
Drug testing question: I may be drug tested for a new job. I haven't really been smoking lately, smoked a decent bit of hash end of July, didn't smoke for a while, and shared a couple of joints while visiting friends two weeks ago. What should I do to make sure I pass? Are the home testing kits they sell at Rite-Aid or wherever pretty accurate just to see if I even need to worry? If I get one of those home urine kits, and don't pass, what stores normally sell the masking kits or whatever that cover you up for the test? Apologies if this has been covered earlier in the thread, 30 pages is a lot to skim through. And info yielded by a google search seems to be either written by morons or conflicting. Thanks in advance.
Go to a drug testing facility in your area and have them do a drug test, if you pass your good, if you don't wait a few weeks and try again. I believe the cost is about 50 bucks per test and it is money well spent.
Or you can just go to CVS and spend $15 on a home kit. If you're forced (ie. at least 48 hours notice and know you're going to fail) into a drug test, google dilution method and it will work.
In the same vein, my husband has a potential test tomorrow for a job at a big box store. He is a daily smoker (although we've agreed that he has to quit) but we know he's not going to pass. He's had awesome luck in the past with Herbal Clean teas but we can't find anywhere around here that sells it (the last time he used it we were living in St. Pete). Does anyone know of anything else that works in a pinch? Was the Herbal Clean just regular tea and Creatinine pills as I suspected all along? Googling this sort of thing gets you all sorts of shady sites trying to sell you products with "Guaranteed Results!" Fuck all that noise. Googling the dilution method gives us tips for tests a few days out. We don't have that kind of time.
I could well be wrong - but every testing agency I've had any dealing with posits that the masking agents won't do shit. Flushing your body with fluids and pissing a lot however does demonstrably have an impact. I've never seen anything credible to indicate that the miscellaneous masking tea's were anything but mild diuretics. Drink as much water and tea as you can and pee a lot and same effect.
On the subject of close calls/hiding drugs - I won't go into detail about the events leading up to this but on a random weeknight when I was dabbling in nocturnalism a few years back I nearly had a collision with a state trooper while in possession of a significant and felonious amount of contraband. I was completely sober and due to both of our inattention (in a gas station parking lot) we came within inches of touching bumpers. Before he could turn around and activate his lights I had placed three separately bagged (and might I add tightly wrapped) grams of cocaine in my mouth and was reaching for a water bottle. After profusely apologizing and him running my license I drove home and stuck a finger down my throat over the kitchen sink and retrieved the goods which were rebagged and later delivered. I was obviously relieved to have avoided arrest and combined with the thought of family and friends learning that I had died from swallowing blow and the subsequent emotions led me to refrain from related activities. Another issue which has given me close calls - drug testing. Pharmacy drug tests are very effective in gauging the presence of drugs in your system. That said, immunoassay (or the dipstick for laymen like myself) is less sensitive (i.e. detects larger amounts) than the lab analyzed GCMS tests which are most common in employment scenarios. Dipstick tests are sometimes used preliminarily to screen for categories of drugs (THC, amphetamines, opiates, benzo's, etc.) and any positive results are sent for further analysis where specifics are discovered. Lab analyzed tests check for excessive fluid consumption (dilution) and probably other indicators of tampering. These dipstick tests are great for a home test while preparing for the real thing and can really reduce anxiety. They are MUCH cheaper on eBay and bulk packs are great for the smoker seeking employment. I will preface by saying that the occasional smoker who is active metabolizes thc fairly quickly and by adding some water and a few supplements to the equation a test can be beaten in far less time than the oft quoted 30 day detection period and sometimes less than a week. With that information out of the way I will get down to the practical information. First, as you may know, thc is stored in body fat; if you have around a week then exercise but if you are in the 3-4 day range it is best to be sedentary and eat heavily to build up clean fat(of course you must abstain from use during this time.) Also, in the 3-4 day range you will want to want to begin consuming creatine, the amount you will need to research; creatine metabolizes into creatnine which is something it is measured in ratio to the urine to detect the excess fluid consumption mentioned above. On the day of the test I would drink tons of water and consume a small amount of vitamin b12 or b complex to add color to what was otherwise crystal clear urine. It is best to experiment as too much will come out neon green and too little will not effect color which is a visual indicator of excessive drinking and can be cause for the request of another sample (where you sit and produce a sample or two until they are an acceptable color) or outright refusal. Google drug test dilution and read a few articles to get down a routine. Also, delay delay delay whenever possible and schedule later in the day so that you have time to drink all that water. Under certain circumstances it is possible to substitute a non user's urine and it is by far the most effective method if it can be accomplished. When obtaining the sample, get a healthy portion so that so that a spill while pouring into the sneaking container won't cause you to come up short. Find something small but capable of holding enough to fill a specimen cup. Next, get some pocket warmer type things and warp them around the bottle after filling. Check the temperature and get it to roughly body temperature. Finally, tuck the bottle in the wasteband of pants (which will maintain temperature usually,) and head to the test. Typically you will be placed in a small bathroom with blue toilet water and asked not to use the sink or flush until handing over the sample. Get a decent pee going on to keep up appearances and fill the specimen cup about to where they ask. Voila! This really only works at certain pre-employment screenings. Some employment and most legal testing clinics watch you or are in the room with you. If that happens in your case, see above. Covering all your bases and doing both may not hurt either. Wow, that was quite a ramble. I was a heavy (and stubborn) smoker in my early college years and these days any decent job will give the test. Naturally I adapted rather than be a pussy and quit for a few months. Do some research and if there is anything major riding on it don't risk it. Hopefully it will help someone here; I have gotten what I sought from this post - fifteen minutes of much needed distraction from homework.

Wear boxer briefs, that way if they do want to watch it won't flop out. Recently I stopped smoking as much, now down to once a week if that, used to be I smoked every day. Suddenly I'm having the most vivid dreams I can remember. A lot of them I think are real while they are going on. I asked a buddy and he said that the THC makes your brain not view things as real. Has anyone else had the same experience? Just woke up from a crazy one that involved seeing a black bear in the forest and attempting to talk it out of attacking me, I woke up talking...
That happens to me too if I stop smoking for a week or so. Don't know what the medical explanation is but to me it feels like I'm going to sleep instead of passing out when I'm off the reefer.
I think there's definitely some connection between smoking and not dreaming as much/vividly. I haven't smoked nearly at all over the past 6-7 months (apart from a couple weeks before I was going to get drug tested, oops) and I actually wake up clearly remembering dreams. My dreams are always pretty mundane but this is compared to rarely if ever having a dream through almost the entirety of college. Then, it was head hit the pillow to oh hey it's morning! By the way, thanks for the drug testing responses. Passed one of the rite-aid pee in a cup tests. I've mentioned to HR twice now that I haven't received the paperwork for the drug test, and I'm not about to ask them a third time. So I'm certainly in the clear now. Of course, I can't smoke until they DO decide drug test me (irony?), but whatever, I don't miss it these days.
A friend of mine wants to go to California next week as he has to use some vacation days, and he thinks the days after the November 2 vote on Proposition 19 will be the best time to go. We live in Canada, so the information we hear about Prop 19 is pretty slim. Can anyone from California say what will actually happen if Prop 19 passes? Will there literally be people walking the streets, smoking weed everywhere the next day? I can't believe anything meaningful would happen that quickly, but I've been wrong once or twice before.
People will not be walking the streets with blunts if that passes. Tell your friend to lay off the weed.

I don't know about this. Although I'm not sure how much I count. I smoke about once or twice a week, and I still have amazingly vivid dreams where I wake up believing they were real. In the past, I've even had vivid dreams during a high nap. Then again, I've always had a really weird imagination.

No. Private residences and licensed venues only. It will be legal the next day - but not in public spaces or unlicensed venues. It'll take time for licenses to be issued.

Hey, I am hoping somebody here can help answer a question. I have to take a drug test in the next 2-3 months (hair). Does anybody have any experience with the shampoo that is sold over the internet that supposedly masks any drug use? The sites seem a little sketchy. Does anybody have any recommendations? Thanks!
