    It's funnier without them. It's not that serious yet. But it seems to be headed that way.

    But here is another random event from my life.

    A couple weeks ago I had to deal with a situation where a group of Hispanic guys kidnapped a teenage lesbian at a Quinceañera.

    They bought my shovel and duct tape for a pretty penny.

    But seriously it was just a work thing. I work for the sheriff's office as a dispatcher, so I just had to deal with the girls dad a bit, take some phone calls and work the radio.

    See, here's the thing. Speaking French in Toronto? You're trying too hard. We can all hear your atrocious accent, and saying "J'était comme...'' instead of 'J'ai dit...' sounds retarded.

    In Ottawa? French is just normal. Lots of people speak it as their first language. Same way that, in Toronto, going out for Korean food isn't some grand cross-cultural exchange or an attempt to not be racist, it's just a matter of going out to the nearest cheap restaurant.
