    I get to see one of my best friends around once a year, and today was that day. We explored an abandoned church, went hiking, rock scrambled and went caving all while having excellent conversation ( and while I was wearin a little dress, tights, and boots because I was going to a party after slash I'm awesome). Fuck, I miss him. But he prefers to leave in Bumfuck, Random State in the Middle of the Country. Lame.

    You know what I noticed recently? White girls love going on adventures. It's amazing how many times I've heard a white girl say "you guys want to on an adventure?" recently. Of course, their adventures usually just turn out to be just driving around until everyone gets bored and then stopping at McDonald's.

    Completely true. I took a girl up into the canyons once (damn that sounds creepy). Despite the fact that we got lost, probably did permanent damage to her front axle, and I dislocated my shoulder, she described it as the "best date ever."

    That's why I'm always skeptical of those "white woman raped in the woods" horror movies; because once a white woman is out in the woods, consent is pretty much guaranteed.

    First part: True. Although isn't it "white people" instead? I thought there was a famous stand up bit about how only white people go on adventures because they're the only ones stupid enough to willingly put themselves in danger. Or maybe it had to do with horror movies. Shrug.

    Second part: False. He's my main argument for the boys and girls can't just he friends debate. I've actually consciously tried to love him because he's such a great guy and I think he'd be a really great husband and father one day, but I just don't. We wouldn't be compatible that way, and I don't want to bang him. (And before someone else says it. I am 99.95% sure the feeling is mutual.) He's just an excellent friend.

    I woke up this morning with a box of Triscuits, a bottle of seltzer, and an intense book/good intentions in my bed. Oh drunken consumption.
