    My ex-wife has a chihuahua and a chihuahua/miniature poodle mix that she treats better than Li'l Bandit at times. One of these days I'm going to take those dogs and sell them to a Korean restaurant; it's too bad that my Ball Pythons will never get big enough to eat them, because I'd really like to see them get swallowed whole.

    Tumblr can be the strangest place.

    I'm currently looking at a bunch of stuff on my screen about people who say they are "transethnic" (born into a body of the wrong race. Like saying "Sure, I may seem black, but I'm actually a big ol' cracker") or "transabled" (born into a body that doesn't actually have a disability that they feel like they have. Like, "I've always felt blind inside, even if my body isn't"). And suggesting that this means they get to play black/disabled/whatever in public debates, and that it's bigoted to deny them this right.

    I don't think they're trolling.

    I hate in the "real dog to own" debate, the same tired breeds get thrown into the mix. Pitbulls, labs, goldens, germans, boxers. There are a ton of other breeds out there that make awesome pets. Even some smaller dogs aren't that bad if they are properly trained. Most of the toy variety of dogs get a bad rep because of their owners, not because of the type of dog it is. I've known plenty of people who have labs that are just as annoying as people that own a chihuahua. Not that I'm saying I'd ever own one as I am a hound lover myself, but most dogs are the way they are because of the people that own them and it has little to do with what breed they are.
    There are also rescues now for just about every breed so there really is no excuse to pay a premium for a dog. However, most rescues now charge a pretty large fee for adoption and it can be better finding an independent breeder and buying a puppy from them. As with just about anything, the more you look into pet ownership the better educated and the better your options will be.

    I pranked three of my nieces and Li'l Bandit this year in the same fashion:

    Two of my nieces got "Mystery Boxes," which were boxes within a box, which were stuffed with old newspaper (to give them some weight), and had taunting messages written inside of them.
    Another niece had her present wrapped with half a roll of duct tape under the holiday wrapping paper, and Li'l Bandit got a box of charcoal.*

    *They got these gifts in addition to their real gifts. I'm not that cruel.

    I just listened to the RHCP- Live in Hyde Park album. Beyond the fact that the band is just stupid good, something else struck me.

    I can only imagine what it's like having 70k+ people in front of you jamming out to a song you wrote. That's got to be one of the most unreal feelings in the world.

    I thought that was the whole point of having kids, to play trick on their innocence. Telling them weird untrue facts about life until they mess up and claim it to their middle school friends as truth and get heckled for it. Things of that nature.
