All I've seen of San Antonio is Lackland AFB and the river walk. But due to being in basic, yeah fuck that place.

She sounds like my mother, a walking DSM. How did I deal with it? I put her in a nursing home. My kids didn't need the same toxic environment I had when I was a kid. She living with my sister-in-law nephews and nieces now, making their lives miserable, but they were warned.

As for cities, Detroit is a larger version of Newark, NJ. Not too fond of LA, either. NOLA was great...when I was drinking. Not so sure I'd enjoy it as much today, except for the food. Had one of the best steaks ever at K Paul's (blackened ribeye, medium, with a great Cabernet).

Enough about food. I just got done with two heaping plates of BBQ and its sleepy time.

Hartford isn't exactly a hotspot, either, but its 'burbs are pretty nice.

Just cleaned up the house for tonights UFC and turkey fry and now I'm getting started on tomorrows hangover. We're supposed to actually get a little bit of snow over the weekend, I can't wait for that. We've got maybe 5" of snow so far this year.

I was in basic and tech school in Lackland back in 04. I didn't see much besides the river walk and the Hard Rock Cafe but I didn't really hate it, just was restricted too much and if I had another chance I might actually go back there.

I will say that Gulfport/ Biloxi, Miss. was not my favorite place to be in. I remember walking into one of the saddest, desolate strip clubs there that I've ever seen. As for Rapid City, S. Dakota...that place can get wiped out by a meteor for all I care. I was stuck living in that hell hole for 4 years.

I suggested putting her in assisted living. But I don't think they have the money for that. She would have to go to some sort of state run home. I can't stand the amount of stress she puts on everyone around her.

I almost called animal control on her once because she is a cat hoarder and she doesn't take care of them. My girlfriend some how talked me out of it. I just don't understand how someone goes that far down this road and doesn't get help. You would think, being the attention whore she is that, that therapy/psychiatric care would just put someone else in a position to pay attention to her.

I didn't particularly care for Cleveland. Or Washington DC. Actually, I hated DC and refuse to go back.

Houston. Too big, too dirty, way too humid.
Oklahoma City. OKC is like an enormous public bathroom that hasn't been cleaned in months and has feces covering every square inch.
    Jackson, Mississippi
    Baltimore.

What about cities/towns that pleasantly surprised you?

But Baltimore has a Hooters....any city that offers that place is at least respectable in my case.

Omaha actually surprised me as a city. Good times

Does all of New Jersey count? My mother lived in Newton for a year and holy shit that place sucked. It somehow managed to be extremely rural in terms of places to go and things to do, but at the same time felt crowded as fuck. Why would someone want to live in a place that had the downsides of both urban and rural living, and none of the upsides?

Also, people in (rural) Missouri are really rude. The way I got treated when I was stationed there made me feel like I was black.

I find this odd. I lived in DC for a year and a half and loved every minute of it. It is probably my favorite city in the country. I loved that their was a huge culture of young people (25-40) that didn't have kids or families and loved drinking. This is something you just don't find in the midwest. Outside of me and a few core friends people here find it odd that I have no interest in getting married and starting a family. Cabs were cheap, public transit abundant. It just rocked.

I had heard Boston was a shit hole filled with mean people with funny accents. I loved Boston a lot because of the explosion of the craft beer scene (thank you beeradvocate.com). And most of the people I met there were pretty cool. And they had educations and like learning. Once again, not something you find in the fly over states.

I feel like I need to move ASAP.

Just OKC? The entire state of Oklahoma is nothing but a giant trailer park. Even god realized he made a mistake when he created that shit hole. That's why he sends 1,000 tornadoes there every summer to try and wipe it off the map. It obviously wasn't working, so he even sent an earthquake. Unfortunately, mobile homes don't have their foundations in the ground so the earthquake was for naught.

As for my personal "least favorite" city, I'd have to say settlement with more than 25,000 people sucks.

St. Louis turned out to be cool.
Chattanooga wasn't terrible. (Ex was a musician who moved to Nashville, and Chatt was halfway between us so we'd frequently meet each other there).
Birmingham was fun, and it's actually pretty with some hills.

Yes, OKC IS that bad. Tulsa's nice. Eastern Oklahoma is beautiful. OKC is flat and ugly, and they claim their Bricktown to rival the "night life" in Dallas.

Ok, so one of your arguments is that DC is better than the midwestern United States? I suppose DC is better than hell (though it would probably give it a run for its money) I lived in the midwest for 6 years. Thanks for bringing back that repressed memory. As far as the midwest, people were pretty cool (though where I lived there were no minorities which I found highly unsettling). Other than that, the midwest can eat a bag of dicks.

The people in DC? The only people I liked in DC were the tourists. Anytime you go somewhere and the only people you like are the people who DON'T live there? Yeah, a bunch of uggos and pretentious fuckfaces. And I'm a pretentious fuckface lawyer.

    DC can suck it.

I guess I should probably mention that I live in the very north side of OKC/Edmond area, where it's not too bad. Downtown OKC/southside is pretty shitty, and Bricktown has turned into a pretty big disappointment.

Looks like everyone is getting sent home early. Good thing too, because I am seriously craving some whisky right now.

San Fransisco was a place I thought would be cool, but I wasn't a big fan of. Everyone was a hipster, not many people wanted to discuss Full House, and rice-a-roni was no cheaper than it is here.

I thought with the congregation of hipsters I would meet some interesting people. But everyone was like a clone of the same person. There were also a lot of vagrants and tourists. I did enjoy the in and out, and ATT park was pretty sweet.

I lived in DC for a while. I didn't have a car, but whenever I rode as a passenger I had no fucking clue where we were, and whoever drove usually got lost. The layout of the city is unnecessarily complicated.
