    In that model's defense, runway outfits are usually ridiculous looking.

    That being said, I have seen young men around here wear shorts that short in similar styles with polos or tshirts and sandals. Yes, it looks a little more normal, but I'm still thinking "if your penis wasn't so small I could probably see it out the bottom of your getup."

    I'm pretty sure that's not a gay runway. I mean, all runways are pretty gay, but I imagine that's a "preppy metro" outfit?

    Fashion shows are intensely ridiculous.

    If you ever want a laugh, check out some pictures from men's fashion week shows. They are RIDICULOUS. The only reason I don't feel awful for the male models is because I've met a handful of them and they're all terrible. They deserve every bizarre outfit they walk down that runway for nothing but attention.

    Except for Armani or Gucci, when they're showing suits. Their shows are some kind of Pavlovian trigger to my inner gold-digger, and I just immediately start salivating.

    And can everyone please watch 30 Rock's canon so you can get the references I sprinkle throughout my conversations? God.

    Having been on the other side of this (briefly, and to little acclaim), I can honestly say that after a couple shows you stop caring entirely. I have to disagree that they're all bad, though. Maybe the high end ones that are doing fashion weeks are dicks, but most of the ones I've met have been average guys.

    Runway modeling is pretty much the only job where being able to walk and chew gum at the same time makes you overqualified.

    Not to go back like, three pages, but I was actually sad when I saw that the WDT was closed. I second the motion for weekly ones.

    Also, the girl I work with has just purchased an HCG diet and is eagerly reading the 120 page manual (why is this so long? who reads this shit?) and I cannot deal. I keep having these spontaneous outbursts about how it's all bullshit and I think I'm starting to make her mad.

    I don't understand why we're only mocking men's fashion. Have you looked at female models/fashion shows lately? Totally crazy. Human beings cannot wear that shit.

    I'm against this. I think having a WDT open all the time makes people lazy. This board is much better when people are engaging in interesting topics and not just posting random drunken snippets. I want this board to be accessable to new members and not just a clique where the only way for people to meaningfully contribute is to be aware of the posts and personalities of the regulars around here.

    Ok, let's bring it all back to men and women being just friends:

    Recently, a friend from high school that I haven't seen or spoken to since graduation has started contacting me through Facebook. He's visiting the city for a few days, and we made general plans to hang out. Since then, our conversations have escalated to being really flirtatious on his part. At first, I thought he was joking, but I'm pretty sure it's serious now, since he slips something sexual into basically everything he has said to me. I do want to hang out with him again, but I have absolutely no interest in that. Should I hang out with him anyway and just shut it down if it comes to that, or if I go into it with a good idea that his intentions are nakedness knowing I'm not interested, is he going to go to his internet board of choice and start ranting about how I'm a bitch who totally lead him on and women are awful rahh rahh rahh? I don't know what to choose between a) totally backing out of our plans and feeling like an ass or b) going to hang out with him with the high potential of it being extremely awkward and feeling like an ass.
