This song was number one when little BigPerson first graced the world. Although I was in Germany at the time, so I don't know if my submission counts.

Since I cant make you tube links work, the song is "Every Breath you Take" by The Police.

Black women are my best customers, their hair is usually fake thus the "can't touch this."

I originally wanted to post this when it happened, but the thread was (temporarily) closed at that point, so I posted in the R&R thread, however, I feel it would be much more appreciated here.

I got bored at work and decided to see if I could RickRoll a co-worker. He had no idea until I showed him the highlighted results...

The American #1 for my birthday was The Police - Every breath You Take. Good song.

Unfortunately the rest of the world had Irene Cara - "Flashdance... What a Feeling". Vomit.

My #1! Seems kind of fitting for the day you were born. (Aretha Franklin and George Michael, I Knew You Were Waiting For Me)

#1 when I was born. I guess it could be worse being born in the late 70's.

    Not bad.

Completely unrelated, but I keep hearing about strange stuff going on at Walmarts. Someone has been going to one in GA and leaving syringes in clothing. Last week someone left two strange packages in the bathroom at a nearby store, and tonight someone left another package (if not a bomb, at least intended to appear so) outside the same one. People are fucking crazy.

Public thanks to all those who volunteered to give me feedback. More people responded on here than did my Facebook post (got 7-8 people here, while I only got 2 on Facebook). Fuck real life friends, plus one point for TiB.

About the black female hair thing:

It might sound weird to you that somebody doesn't want their hair touched, or that they pay so much for a weave, or that they obsess over it so much, but really it's a vestige of privilege.

In the media, most of the hair is straight or lightly curled. You will almost never see natural black hair, and you certainly won't see it to the extent that you see natural hair for other races. So lots of black women are faced with a choice: either fuck with their hair extensively, or be deemed unattractive/unprofessional. Hair is an important cultural marker, so it would make sense that people might be sensitive about it -- and when you're doing that much processing, etc., having it pulled during sex could totally fuck it up.

If you're an average-haired white chick, and you get your hair pulled, you might just have to wash and blow dry it the next day and it will look acceptable. If you're black, and you spent a lot of time and energy managing your hair, and you know that people are going to side-eye you all day if it looks remotely natural, you might think twice about how much you like having it pulled.

Makes sense to me. It's unfortunate that most people consider untampered African American hair to be unprofessional on some level. I think every black man I know ends up shaving their head or cutting it extremely short when it comes to go professional. For some reason, an afro still has some hippy or otherwise unprofessional connotations. Most women end up doing all sorts of crazy shit to make sure they don't go to work with an afro. A female black friend of mine has been straightening her hair every day since like the 6th grade. Must be quite the burden. If I had to put that much effort into my hair, I'd be pretty annoyed if it got fucked up too.

I have achieved victory over the internet. Seriously, THIS was the number one song on Billboard when I was born:

Not even Richard Marx's mullet can beat that.
