I made the mistake of trading away a top-3 RB for some wide receiver depth a couple years ago, and it failed miserably for me. In that trade, you are in essence giving up Mr. Skittles for Larry Fitzgerald. So you're trading a guaranteed 30 touches a game for a guy that could get 20 points or 0 points. I'd say hell no.
I have a quick question about a trade. I'm new to this and I would appreciate any help. He is willing to give me Chris Ivory and Isaiah Crowell for Randall Cobb. My other WR is Antonio Brown, my starting RB's are Tevin Coleman (out) and Alfred Morris. This is not a PPR league. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't like that first offer at all. Would you trade Marshawn for Larry? I wouldn't. Bryant should be good for some points when he gets back, Jackson won't be out forever, Edelman is getting a lot of volume, and you have two flex spots which really reduces the importance on whether you're strong at WR or RB. Maybe I'm dumb but I don't know who Beef-Mo' is. Eh, the Browns are in a pretty solid committee right now so I'm not sure I love any of their running backs. Ivory is looking nice this year, though, and you definitely need the help since it looks like Morris might be losing touches to Jones. Who will you play in Cobb's place?
Yuck. A guy who hasn't played a snap and a guy who's leading his team in receiving at 50 yards/game. My gut feeling is that the #1 WR on a team with Aaron Rogers is a more valuable asset than Chris Ivory or the Browns' flavor of the week, especially when you don't have much behind Cobb. It's probably about a wash in value, though, so not a bad trade. You could try aggressively targeting owners of disappointing-so-far players like McCoy or Murray, or see if you can get some leverage out of an owner of an injured player like Bryant. Is it a barren wasteland in free agency?
I've never heard him referred to as Beef Mo. Still don't really like it unless you really believe Seattle won't be a running team this year. The O-line is having some trouble but I still think Marshawn is a strong bet to finish top-5.
I tried searching through some of the older Fantasy Football threads but couldn't seem to find it, but someone posted a link to a blog that does weekly analysis specifically around streaming defenses that I never remembered to save the link to. Anybody remember what it was or still have the link saved somewhere?
So my RB crew all boarded the injury train this week so I'm stuck starting AP and Joique Bell. Chris Johnson is still out there available as a free agent. Is it worth picking him up for one week in place of Bell? I've got Foster who should be back next week, so I really only need a one week stopgap.
In one league, I have almost a legitimate starting lineup on my bench questionable or w/injuries Romo Foster Miller Dez Jeffrey Ivory If I can hold the fort for a few weeks though...
Has anyone goten into Daily Fantasy Sports, i.e. Draft Kings or FanDuel? I'm trying it for the first time this week with the following lineups: 50/50 league, 100 players $25 buy in ($45 win), also Freeroll (I paid nothing) ($500 1st prize) QB Brady RB Peterson RB D. Martin WR P. Harvin WR B. Marshall WR N. Washington TE Gronk K Lambo D Browns $5 buy in $15 win QB Dalton RB AP RB Woodhead WR D. Thomas WR V. Jackson WR A. Cooper TE Eifert K Lambo D Pats $1 buy in $10k win QB Newton RB Woodhead RB L. Bell WR A. Cooper WR D. Moncrief WR P. Harvin TE Gronk K Walsh D Seahawks And for both of the big ones: $5 buy in, $100K win $25 buy in $1,000,000 win QB Brady RB Woodhead RB L. Bell WR Edelman WR Marshall WR Boldin TE Rudolph K Lambo D Browns Thoughts on my lineups or on DFS in general?
Never played DFS before but I got a free entry so I signed up for one today. QB C. Palmer RB A. Peterson RB I. Crowell WR A. Brown WR J. Brown WR J. Jones TE T. Kelce FL D. Moncrief D Vikings
If the coaching staff is smart they're going to give David Johnson the lion's share of the touches but I don't know if they're smart.
I can't decide who to flex this week. I have been playing Ivory, but he's kind of banged up so even if he plays, I wonder how much? Other options are Maclin and James Jones. I also have Jordan Cameron.
No shit, right? I was thinking of this comment as I was watching the statline float across the screen.
Mother effer. I'm 0-3 even though this week I had my 2 WRs put up 65 points (projected 21) and my fucking kicker put up 17. 2nd highest score of the week, obviously facing the first highest score. Fuck you, Kaepernick. Stop throwing pick-sixes.
I had the exact opposite scenario as you. Basically all of my picks, with the exception of my Defense (why the hell did I think the Browns could stop anybody?) went off. Peterson came back to form, AJ Green went out of his mind, Cobb reminded Rodgers why he's his #1 receiver again and CJ2K apparently had a flashback to 2009 and remembered that he was a pretty good RB. Between those 4 alone I put up 113 points which would have beat all but one other team in my league. Now I'm up to 3-0 with Arian Foster getting ready to make his triumphant return in the next couple of weeks, so the rich keep getting richer.
@jdoogie Yeah, I had Green and Cobb (and Gostowski and Denver's D/ST) which, any other week, would have crushed it. Lost by 3 points and now Roethlesberger is out 4-6 weeks.
