Been offered a trade: (He gives) Adrian Peterson & Calvin Johnson for (I get) Devonta Freeman & Larry Fitzgerald. I am a Falcons fan, and part of the fantasy fun for me is watching "my" guys do well for me, but AP and CJ have a better track record. Anybody have thoughts?
I assume the second part should be (I give) since otherwise you're getting 4 players for what I assume must be a sloppy blowjob at a minimum. Calvin Johnson is stuck on a fucking terrible offense, whereas Fitzgerald and Freeman are on two of the most explosive offenses in the NFL this year. I like the AP part of this trade since he's going to continue to get a ton of volume, though... who are your other receivers?
Oops, yes. Randall Cobb & DeAndre Hopkins. I want to keep Freeman, because Go Falcons. However, Fitz is playing over his head compared to the last few seasons, and Freeman hasn't proven he can last. I feel like Fitz is old and will collapse, and that Freeman plays for the Falcons, so of course something bad will happen. We have a Flex position in our league, so I need a solid back or receiver in that spot, which is where I'd been playing Fitz. D Murray & J Randle are my other backs.
Eh. Hard to say, which means it's probably a fair trade. Fitz has a healthy Carson Palmer and as long as that stays intact I'd say his value stays high. I'd take the trade but partly for one of the reasons you're reluctant - I like cheering for my fantasy players when they're players I cheer for in real life. I'm not a Detroit fan but I love watching Calvin Johnson. FWIW, the CBS trade value chart says you win that trade by a fair amount.
I'm in RB hell all of a sudden. Was running a nice rotation of AP, Arian Foster and CJ2K. Now, Foster is out for the year, Johnson is on a bye and I've got absolute dog shit on my bench for a RB2. My options are Tevin Coleman or Orleans Darkwa. FA options aren't much better either with the top prospects there being Antone Smith for Chicago, Darren Sproles, or the new duo of either Pierre Thomas or Chris Thompson for SF. Any advice other than hope and pray for a miracle?
Langford isn't available is he? I'd say that Coleman is a known low-ceiling, whereas Darkwa has a higher ceiling.
Is the guy from SF on the list? Kendall Gaskins? He looks to be the feature back for this week at least.
He is, but so are Shaun Draughn and Pierre Thomas; both of whom SF signed just this week. And FWIW, both of them are projected to score more points than Gaskins.
I'd go with Gaskins, he knows the playbook at least. I mean, you are out of options at this point. Sproles is the only one on that list that "could" show up. I'd go with either Gaskins or Sproles if you have no other option.
My season has been a shitshow. Right now I have the following to fill one WR slot and one flex slot: - Randall Cobb (@ Car) - Allen Robinson (@ NYJ) - Stefon Diggs (vs StL) - Jeremy Langford (@ SD) Figure Langford is a lock given the Bears are going to give him a bunch of touches against a terrible SD run defense. The other three are a mystery. Cobb is by FAR the worst producer this season, but can I really bench Aaron Roger's #1 target? Basically all three are facing hellacious secondaries, and it's hard to trust Bridgewater or Bortles. I have Lacy in against Carolina, tempted to bench Cobb just to spread the points around a little since my combo of Cobb + Lacy has lost me more than one game this season.
Personally, out of what you said, I'd bench Lacy, start langford at RB and run Diggs and Robinson in WR and Flex. Cobb is going to be shadowed by who is now the most underrated shutdown corner in the league right now and Lacy has been a giant let down so far this year. Just my .02.
Funny, a few hours after I posted this I put in that exact lineup. Fuckin' fantasy football. I've got two waiver wire guys in (ARob got dropped after his first game) over my first & third round picks, and a third waiver guy in over basically the entire rest of my draft.
Flex play today: Probable Jonathan Stewart or Questionable Calvin Johnson? Projected 11 v projected 13
Thanks. That's what I'm doing. Also, Johnson is listed as Probable now, but his projection went down to 11.
In every one of my four leagues this week, I am facing the person currently ranked in first place. As long as Deandre Hopkins gets 15.5 points or less, I will win all four of those matchups. Good fantasy week for me.
