No children here. It's the birds outside that wake me up. I skyped with wheelz one time. "SHUT THE BIRDS UP!!" I think that sums up my sentiments perfectly.
Ah, Father's Day weekend. The Mrs. booked me a 2 hour deep tissue massage this afternoon. Unfortunately, it's with a guy named Pavel and not a gal named Paulina. Then, she's making me paella for dinner because I've had a hankering for it and haven't had any success locating a restaurant around here that serves it. Then, we're going to see Prometheus in IMAX 3D. Not a fan of 3D, but everything I've read says Scott didn't overuse it, and the IMAX theatre in town is really comfortable. Tomorrow, we're going to my favorite breakfast spot: The Original Pancake House, where I'm gonna eat me a Dutch Baby. My oldest, who got her first job, is working from noon til closing tomorrow, hence much of the celebration taking place today. But I'm going to smoke 4 slabs of baby back ribs and make a cherry-chipotle glaze. Throw in some nookie-nookie tonight and tomorrow morning, and it's the perfect weekend.
Beer, you are a dick. Why you gotta be all mean like this the next day? It's all fun on Friday night, and then on Saturday morning, your true colours come out. Why can't you at least let me have my dignity? This is not lady like! You could at least come with a bottle of Pepto Bismol.
I'm supposed to train in two hours and I have a pint of ice cream and a bag of Chex Mix in me. This could turn out to be epic.
My massage was with a girl named Virginia. She was gorgeous and innocent-looking. Blonde with a body to die for and hands that could crush cars. The boyfriend got "Yulija" who spoke with a heavy Russian accent and tied her hair into a bun so tight that it looked like an asshole. He came out looking dazed but pleased.
Just decided to take Hubs and son 4 to see Rock of Ages tomorrow. I am thinking it is going to be really bad but I am hoping in a corny laughable not a wanting to slit my throat kind of way.
Anyone else tired of all the Olympic hype? Maybe I'm just old, but I miss the days when the Olympics were amateurs. Well, except for the Soviet Bloc nations, but still.
You shut it. I am always excited for the Olympics. And the thread on the RMMB four years ago was epic. So I'm hoping we can get some more patriotism and sport going this time around. My early condolences for all the Canadians on the board. On a positive note, you guys have the Winter Olympics coming up in two years.
The sailing events are taking place from my dad's home town, so I'll be keeping a lookout for those. I'll probably be watching the cycling events - the crashes are always spectacular. Not quite as awesome as the crashes in the professional tours (e.g. Tour De France, Giro D'Italia, Kelloggs Tour Of Britain, etc.). As for South Africa, we have virtually no chance of any Golds. I'm rooting for England*... But for now, Euro 2012 is where it's at. England > Sweden. For the first time in over 4 decades. * Dual citizenship here. Shut up. Crepes are awesome. So that's a yes.
I'm actually really fucking excited about the Olympics this year, even though I'm not a huge fan of sports or patriotism. (Just kidding, I love America, mostly.) I'm so happy that they're streaming them online for us poors. When do they start anyway? I've been kind of down lately, but I just cleaned my room while listening to the TLC Pandora station and dancing like a cheesy teen movie scene and now the world is beautiful again. I still know all of the words to all of the songs that have played so far. And I think that if dubyu tee eff ever comes to my apartment again he won't need his smelling salts if he sees my room.
Thanks for the Sailor Jerry mix suggestions everyone...I went with some Dr. Pepper first, and it's pretty good. I'll keep experimenting. Oh, seeing this guy later. Sold out show
The Strip has the biggest Walgreens I have ever seen. And they are handing out free tequila samples. Fuck Emory, I think I'll move to Vegas.
I'm now in Las Vegas and feel more like I've arrived on the surface of the sun. Fuck this heat. I also learned that I may be getting to old to go on 18 hour drives, it took me two days to begin feeling somewhat normal again. On the plus side, all this heat works up a powerful thirst, but then again so does cold, rain, drought, hurricanes, snow, wind, and cloudy days.
