Wow, just wow. I found them a couple of years ago. ( I think someone posted them here.) Here was my introduction to them. And this is just plain funny.
Die Antwoord is fucking weird as shit. I have a friend is loves them and, coincidentally, does tons of drugs. Here's another one of his favorite songs. Song is only really 21 seconds long... definitely worth the payoff. Anyway... it's not a youtube video, but the soundtrack for RZA's new movie - The Man with the Iron Fists - is fucking awesome and you should stream it into your earholes: http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.20583/title.rza-the-man-with-the-iron-fists-soundtrack-stream
Mumford & Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show and Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeroes (great band I didn't know about before watching this documentary) board a train destined for six gigs through California, the American southwest, Texas and finally NOLA. Just awesome, and not too long at just over an hour. Definitely worth a watch.
So uh, not really sure where else to post this, but has anyone listened to the new Muse album? Was anyone else terrible disappointed and immediately queued up The Resistance for comfort?
New Justin Timberlake song! He's finally coming out with more music. Best version is streaming off his site though. <a class="postlink" href="http://justintimberlake.com/news/2013/justins-open-letter/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://justintimberlake.com/news/2013/j ... en-letter/</a>
Alice in Chains is coming out with a new one soon. Jerry Cantrell is one of my favorite musicians. This song is gnarly as hell. From "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here", "Stone": Yes, it kind of sounds like Earache My Eye.
Listening to the first half of the 20/20 Experience, well the first CD as there is another CD coming out relatively soon. All the negative reviews of it on a basic level is that it isn't the pure pop, dancing at the club album people wanted it to be. Higher level pretentious criticisms have gone on to say "Justin Timberlake sounds like an actor trying to sing, vs his previous being a singer that was trying to act" and "Justin Timberlake is trying to position himself as a luxury brand, walking the line between D'Angelo and Frank Sinatra." The bottom line no matter what is this album is a great album for a more passive listening, atmospheric listening, and most importantly perfect music to fuck to. Timbaland has some really Timbaland sounding beats, and on others he hides his style a bit. Not sure if any of the sounds are new or 2013, but damn they hook into you, and are very well produced. The album is 10 tracks, 7 or 8 of them are about 8-9 minutes long.
I'm only posting this because I CAN'T GET THIS GODDAMN SONG OUT OF MY HEAD! I have however decided that between the album cover (big hair, that shirt) and the song itself it offers everything you could possibly want from 80's music: (I'm also somewhat ashamed to admit this was my favorite song when I was five.)
It’s been a few years since Archandroid, but here’s something new from Janelle Monae. Can't wait for the new album.
This might be old news for Frank Ocean fans, but I found a song that was cut from Channel Orange. It has been pulled from the Youtube links I tried, but can be found here: http://www.earmilk.com/2013/02/24/frank-ocean-eyes-like-sky/
Just found this through some random Facebook post, figured I would share it here since it's pretty cool guitar playing. Never heard of the guy before today, maybe some of you already have.
