Plain badass country. Godfather showed this to me one night.Amazing. Kris Kistofferson New supregroup formed by Dave Grohl. Includes John Paul Jones on bass and dude from Queens of the Stoneage on Guitar/Vocals Them Crooked Vultures My all time favorite Hendrix song. Should have been a single.
Since "New Music" sucks (fuck you Kings of Leon), I'm going to post good old fashioned pure rock and roll. It's what you SHOULD be listening to, instead of Chris Martin whining about feelings and shit.
Christmas is nearing. Might as well get in the spirit. I give you a very merry Bob Dylan Here's a cover by R&B's own Prince and Princess. They sound like a bunch of Reese's Pieces making love to eachother
I was just introduced to Dan Deacon a few days ago. Give this a listen, it's incredible. He also has all of his music on his website (except for his brand new album which should be there shortly I'm assuming). Just don't download "A Green Cobra is Awesome Vs. The Sun" unless you like 45 minutes of tone.
Check this out. I'm told the genre is called dubstep, which I had never heard of before listening to these guys. All I know is this song is awesome and these guys don't seem to be well-known at all.
Haven't seen much love for trance so far so I'll throw these out there. Been listening to Armin Van Buuren's State of Trance 2009 (basically a compilation of lesser known Trance artists).
So Pitchfork released their "Best 50 Albums of 2009." I wonder if it's possible to make that list douchier.
I've been listening to Weezer's Raditude a lot recently. It's quite possibly the most ironic album ever made, tacky songs about partying and the shallowest lyrics ever but with pretty catchy music. The whole point of the album is to prove that even shit sells, and this album is lyrically shit, the music is bland and repetitive but still catchy. I feel like I'm violating myself.
Soundgarden has just been reunited! I usually watch through a TV series during my break to pass time during the dull moments, and this past winter break I've been watching Chuck. This song came on during one of the last episodes and I can't stop listening to it.
I just found the B.o.B. vs. Bobby Ray Mixtape, and it's amazing. The first half is more typical, but very good rap. The second half is stuff like this. The mixtape is free online so here's the link if your interested. http://www.zshare.net/download/61703787b0fcac77/
I heard this on the radio yesterday, and have been playing it on repeat to try and get it out of my head. No success. May you share my curse.
I consider this to be a very underrated Pink Floyd song. It's among my favorites. The video sucks, but listen in HQ and you'll love it. Rick Wright really makes this song, shame he has passed on.
Syd Barret Pink Floyd era songs are nearly invisible to the average listener. The man was a genius. Completely out of his mind, but still a beautiful artist. His songs are so off beat and obscure, but become sublime in the end.
There is a God. I've always regretted not seeing these guys live when they were still together. Looks like I may die a happy man.
