Not sure why David Wallace got so angry at Jim. He barely cares on much worse shit that Michael has done.
He explained that he just snapped because of all the pressure that was on him with the media and junk about them going bankrupt. Did you not here the rest of the conversation?
Wouldn't that be spelling Nazi? I still very much enjoy the show, but the things they've been doing the last year or so have been almost cartoonish. I think it may be time to pull the plug.
While the show still makes me laugh consistently, I think the most annoying part thus far has been Dwight's constant attempts to get Jim fired. It is very rarely funny, and with Jim being a manager, they hardly ever play pranks on each other anymore.
When the kid exclaimed "you owe it to us!" I lost any sort of empathy I might have for those students.
Looks like maybe the show won't end after all? Apparently only the top management are being axed and not the branch, the rest are being bought out. I enjoyed the episode, nothing amazing, but overall good. Toby as anti-christ was funny. "Guess who I am sitting here dressed as. His last name is Christ, he has the power of flight, he can heal leopards, I am Jesus" lol.
Did anyone catch Oscar's Jingle Balls scene? It was quite disconcerting. I think it was the scene where Michael was Jesus, and his head is the main focus of the frame. Oscar's groin is right over his left shoulder, and there was a lot of junk shaking going on.
This episode was decidedly meh. This was one of those thrown together at the last minute bits of mostly flashbacks episodes they cobble together when the creativity well has been tapped dry. Sure, I liked seeing all those scenes, but still. I was looking forward to a new episode, not a greatest hits compilation. Guess it moved the plot forward an inch or so.
The writers have been struggling for short-term plot until Pam gives birth. I think next season will be its last.
Honestly, if at the end of that episode it said in big letters: The End I would have been happy, and it wouldn't have been the worst way to go.
I really didn't like that the majority of the episode was basically a "Clip Show", I generally HATE clip shows. The first few minutes (pre-clip trip) seemed like the episode was going to be hilarious ("Fake Stanley?!" and Computron disagreeing with Michael)
Totally agreed, it has really taken this long for me to get over the show being gone for three weeks and coming back with THAT. I wish they would've made us wait another week for an hour long show, and just have clips be the first half. Instead of "The End", we deserved "We're Sorry". I would like to see the new owners axe Michael at the end of the season, ed the TV series there, and then do a movie where he gets the job back, and leave it there. I think an Office movie would be huge if they did it that way.
I said pretty much the same thing to my uncle, who is a huge fan of the show as well. He thought I was crazy, but at this point I wouldn't mind if she was taken off the show. Just kills the funny for me.
Without a doubt, the latest episode that aired was the worst episode they have ever made for this show. I can't even believe that this is the same show that produced such a flawless Season 2 and pretty damn solid Season 3. It's almost as if their goal now is to destroy every good thing that was ever built up through character development. This put Jim and Pam on a whole new level of unlikeability. They have no redeeming qualities left. Pam is just a straight up bitch now, why are they writing her like that? Why have they written Ryan out of the show? He was one of the best parts of it all. Why have they written Toby out of the show? He was one of the best parts of it all. Why are they giving Creed one random line per episode? The whole brilliance of him was that it wasn't just some random line but something bordering on creepy and deranged. Now its just a formula for each episode. Why did they decide to ruin David Wallace. Not in a million years would that guy do anything that just happened in the last episode. The whole problem I see stems from a lot of bad decisions with the story line over the last 2 seasons that have just become irreparable. They should have never written Jan completely out of the show. She was one of the best actresses and certainly made Season's 2 and 3 with her personal/professional relationship with Michael. The way they weaved that story into the grand scheme of things was pitch perfect. How have they forgotten how to do that? I don't care about the logistics but you can not just write out Holly that quickly. Find a way to get her to stay on that show. Pay her whatever. Stop fucking around. That whole relationship last season should have been explored through an entire season like they did with Jim and Pam's relationship in Season 2. Don't cop out and send her away, then illegally get information off her computer to give Michael some sort of closure. This last episode has gotten me really fired up and I can not see how they can get this show back on the right track.
One of my favourite highlights for a while was when Dwight stated that he once started an "escort service" (but as in escorting traffic), but got lots of enquiries from "a lot of creeps", then he gets pulled over by the cops with "Dwight, you stop impersonating a cop!"
The Office got cackling laughs out of me for the first time in a long time last night. Very funny episode, hopefully the show stays funny.
