I've been "off the market" for almost nine years and have never even attempted online dating (sites like Plentyoffish weren't around then). Does it work out well for most of you? I assume most of you perverts are just in it for a cheap fuck here and there, but you must have some good/bad outcome stories.

I found OKC pretty frustrating. There are a lot of people on there who aren't really interested in meeting. They're either too shy to ever go through with a meet, or just want attention, or it's not even a real profile. And, there's idiots who are worried about people stalking them in real life, so they don't give their real location, not understanding that's how the searches are filtered.

I don't think it's a good alternative to going out and meeting people. If your social skills suck, online dating might get you to a first date, but you're still going to be your same awkward self on that date. It's more of a good way to just expand your net, find people you wouldn't normally run into with your current habits.

It's also not particularly great for smaller cities, where there just aren't many people on. Of course, there's not many people to meet at bars there either, so maybe having the alternative is even more important.
