I don't understand your confusion. Right now, waivers are reset every week, based on the reverse order of the standings. Once you use your pick for that week, you go to the end of the line. Then they reset for the next week. Most leagues do not reset them. They are set at the beginning of the season based on reverse draft order, and then once you use your pick, you go to the back of the line. No reset. This is the system Sherwood and I are advocating.

The good teams in that system have no greater likelihood of getting the good players than the bad teams, they just aren't handicapped the way they are in this league's current system.

If you pay more attention to the NFL before your draft, you will do better in the draft. Like if you were me, and you know that Ahmad Bradshaw would be starting over Brandon Jacobs and would also be picked 2-3 rounds later. Or if you knew that the Jets had an awesome O-Line and an unproven Shonn Greene standing in the way of LDT being a viable RB again. Or if you have strategies that involve QB-STRONG TE combos because people way too often neglect TEs. Then you follow that strategy and you win.

There are two types of people in this world, those who think that Fantasy is just luck, and those who are good at fantasy.

Oh shut the fuck up. It is not good it's preparation. I have won my league about three times and been in the championship five, I'm not better than you or Jamie Eisenberg. So you knew Bradshaw would be starting over Jacobs? You and the rest of the guys who read fantasy magazines and watch ESPN. Honestly, if you put the time and do the research you will be competitive. Of course you could have a guy who drafted in order:

    Phillip Rivers
    A. Foster
    Hakeem Nicks
    Brandon Lloyd
    Zack Miller
    LT

He would be killing everyone. Your telling me that this man knew all these players would be great? He just deep down knew Arian Foster would be better than AP and Johnson?

Also your LT point is ridiculous. The o--line is good but LT has had over 100 yards once. The Jet's being a good rushing team was hardly some earth shattering prediction. Most guys research their picks, some even check schedules, but all need a little luck to keep winning. If you translate researching and being ready as good than I suppose I agree with you. You do realize their is a guy who is 6-3 in our league and among the lowest in scoring correct?

I do think some guys put time into it and calculate a trade but that could just as easily blow up in their face.

The thing I thought you and Mr. Warden were complaining about was the last place team getting the first crack at waivers every week, not the fact that it reset. All my leagues reset and it has been quite successful, you may put too much weight in the first pick up. Brandon Jackson was an enormous waiver pick up and he is being outscored by Peyton Hillis, Brandon Lloyd, Kyle Orton and more than a few others this year. If you were so incredibly shrewd you should have no problem seeing past obvious picks and getting the sleepers.

As long as you have played fantasy how much can you sum up to skill? Anthony Hernandez and Saints D combo'd for almost forty points this week, was it a skilled guy who put them in? It was a genius who knew a Cleveland defender would tip a ball into AE's hands?

The waiver argument is viable and one I have heard before. I think the big problem is that mediocre teams have trouble getting above average. However saying that you should get a higher waiver pick because or your skill is silly. If you are that skilled just bet on the games make money and leave fantasy to us humble folk.

I'm done with this, like a fat girl in dodge ball I'm out.

I can't fucking believe I just threw TO in a trade. How is he such a beast? How is Chad Ocho whatever not crying up a storm?

Christ I never saw that coming at all.

In the paid league can someone explain how Vernon Davis ended up on the waiver wire?

Why did I have to be against you this week? Fuck me running.... I had a pretty solid week and you destroyed me.

For the record, I am the Beef Curtain Defense.

Next week is pointless. It's my entire team against Rashard Mendenhall. Thanks for the free win, dude.

Dude he is having an amazing season. I knew he would have a couple but he is a must start fantasy wide out right now.

My CBS sports league has TO's scoring as follows:

    100 targets 55receptions 770yards 14.0 7TDS 0 146.5 points

Yes and you can tell Maltob that this idiot in your league traded him (as a throw in) because I thought that Ocho would cause such a stink if he started to get this overshadowed. Especially seeing the Bengals are 2-6!!

I was arguing with someone about being "good" at fantasy. Again you can be prepared, you can do your due diligence but how do you ever predict this shit? Everybody thought TO was washed up and Ocho was a low number 2. Now TO is the number one scoring fantasy WR and Ocho is someone who should be on waivers.

FOCUS: Who is the biggest fantasy surprise, bad or good this year?

Good- Brandon Lloyd, Kyle Orton the Denver duo

Bad- (just off the top of my head) The "wildcat duo" Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, what the fuck happened there?

Nobody said it was ALL skill. But it's more skill than luck. Let's take a look at TO

He and Ocho are good friends outside of football
He had a bad year last year with Trent Fucking Edwards as his QB
He went a whole year without causing a problem.
He's one of the best conditioned athletes in the NFL. The dude has Gary Roberts style training for himself.

Did I see TO being good? Not this good, but I drafted him in my other league as a sleeper because of the following.

Former elite WR joins a new team with a better QB and a better chance of winning. Yeah, so I didn't see Cincy being this terrible at all, but I figured he was worth a late round flyer. And I'm 9-0 in that league.

Good: Rivers (never thought he'd do THIS well), Hakeem Nicks, Jamaal Charles, Peyton Hillis, McFadden, TO, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Steve Johnson, Antonio Gates (same deal as Rivers), and now assuming it keeps Jacob Tamme. And how could I forget: Vick. I never thought they'd have the balls to just say "Hey, sure he got into some trouble, but he kicks some fucking ass so lets play him anyway"

Bad: Favre (figured he'd at least not be on Waivers right now), Fitzgerald, can't think of the bad right now. I've just blocked them out really

    I'll focus on the bad:

Larry Fitzgerald (maybe less so with Derek Anderson around), Ray Rice, MJD, Romo, Jahvid Best, Ryan Mathews, Steve Smith (CAR), DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart.... The list goes on and on.... It's been a bizarre year for fantasy.

God I fucking hate Favre. Take him out of the lineup last week because I can't fucking take only getting 9 or less points from the QB position. So of course he plays his best game (by a god damn mile) all year. So I put him in and what do I get, 2 fucking points and a most likely loss, all because of that fucker.

Fuck you KC. I bench Bowe cause I am needing more than 8 points out of a WR this week and I'm playing against Matt "Im a fucking gunslinger when down by 4 scores early" Cassell. Fuck that noise.

Sat Roddy White this week in one of my non-TiB leagues. Fucking stupid. Did something I don't think I've ever done in fantasy before with my TiB free team though. Got more than 10 pts from every player on my team. Now I just have to count on David Akers not kicking 50 points and I take 1st in the league.

And in case you don't know. TiB Free's trade deadline is the 26th.

If you sat Roddy White you deserve to lose. He is close to the number one scoring WR in all leagues, he is a must start every week. Honestly that is really, really awful.

    TRADES

When offering a trade please make sure you at least have an idea in your head why the other team would accept it.

    Reverse cowgirls offered me:

    Vernon Davis
    Matt Cassel
    Donald Driver

    for

    Desean Jackson
    Michael Crabtree
    Bears D

As much I would love to have Vernon Davis (he was just on waivers?) he is not having a good season. So I would then give up a number one WR and a low end number one number two wideout in Crabtree for Matt C and Donald Driver? Cassel should barely be on a roster, that and I have Kyle Orton who has been stellar. Donald Driver??? cmon.........!

I'll echo what I just sent to you via PM
I'm not sure what you're standards are for "a good season" but I would say 2nd among all TE's would qualify. That is an upgrade over everyone else's TE, seeing as I have the #1 guy in Gates.

Cassel is 12th overall and just put up a 33 point week, highest of any QB all season. He has a very favorable upcoming schedule on a very hot offensive team. Orton has been solid, but with a good matchup you could definitely start Cassel.

The man has averaged 10 points a game pre-injury and is coming back from bye and injury as the 2nd WR behind Jennings on a high powered offense. He has value as well.

I said it in the PM and i'll say it again. Reject my trade offer, fine, but I don't see the reason to berate the person who offered the trade, both in the rejection comments and publicly on the FF thread, especially when your points are so short-sighted they are laughable.

    No you are an idiot.

Q-If a team has Kyle Orton guess what he does not need?

A- The 12th ranked fantasy QB

Q- If a team is struggling with wide receivers what should he probably not do?

A- trade Desean Jackson and Michael Crabtree for Donald Driver

If you want to break down your awful trade that is fine however you keep missing the point and don't answer the question I continue to ask you and that is how does this help my team?

When you offer a trade you should be ready to almost sell it to the guy tell him how you can address his needs. You looked at my team decided you wanted Desean Jackson and then tried to think of what bench players you could offer me to get him.

Look at a players roster before offering a trade address his need's and wants. When I get crap like I did above it reminds me of when you first started fantasy and threw out rip off trades just to see what the other player would do. I mean Jprue, that was the only decent response. Laugh at it and say "my bad" don't try and defend offering me Matt Cassel.
