HOPEFULLY picking this little guy up Monday. His name is Avett and he's a 9 month old Lab/Hound mix. So excited.
My sisters lil' sausage-dog. Never before I have seen so much 'stubborn' concentrated into such a small package.
I posted a picture a while back of Oliver when he was a puppy, and here is now, today, on his first birthday. Happy birthday, Bubby!
The newest member of the family, Avett. The adoption did go through and he's been with us for a little over a week.
Angus has discovered his new favorite place. He wouldn't come out this morning. Where's Angus? Found him!
Got my tank on Saturday, picture shows the water pretty cloudy but it has cleared right up now so probably pick up a few fish tonight or tomorrow. No solid plans for the fish yet, keen on various cichlids so just see how I go pretty much.
Well it's been forever since I've been on the board, and the most suitable post is probably the biggest change in my life since I was on here. Everyone, meet Burrows. He's a chihuahua-dachshund mix I adopted in the spring from an organization that brings dogs up from high-kill shelters in California. Since it was the middle of the playoffs and he loves to dig into blankets and any nook or cranny in your arms while you're on the couch, Burrows seemed like a suitable name.** Kinda weird timing when I got him, since three weeks later my family's dog Ralf passed away suddenly, and unexpectedly. He had some German Sheppard in him, and apparently they have a habit of dying with no warning whatsoever from a "cardiomyopathy". It was tough for my whole family, though having this new little guy around did help soften the blow. Kinda sucked since they seemed like they were gonna be great friends, and Burrows is really timid around most big dogs, but wasn't with Ralf. ** And if you get him riled up and stick your finger in his mouth, he'll bite it. But only if you stick you're finger in their first, since you're essentially asking for it at that point, right Patrice Bergeron?
9 fish in there now, probably get another 6 on the weekend then let things settle for a few weeks before adding more. They are interesting little fish, it's fun to watch them explore and sort out the pecking order.
My dirty slut of a horse is starting to show. He's getting over foundering...which wasn't a good summer for him.
