Id still be wary. Our geriatric beagle found the ability to put some pep in her step going after some adolescent ducks that were free ranging. She didn't quite get a mouthful, but she got close.
Oh I'm no dummy. They are separated full time, this was a one off thing that didn't end in disaster. I am just super happy at the obvious improvements to his behavior around animals that flutter. I would not trust them around the ducks full time, probably ever. Buddy's prey drive is something else and he managed to maul a feral cat while he was leashed when we first got him. He was a stray and possibly feral before we adopted him from the shelter so I think he had to hunt to stay alive.
I was. I underestimated a hound's drive to eat anything it can and turned my back on her for just a moment. It was probably fun for her, a nice change from her usual hunt for a nice, cold turd ( of her own ) to eat. *Gag*
We can't break her of it either. We've given her things to make her shit taste nasty (nastier?) with no luck. All we can do is keep it cleaned up and hope we don't miss a pile.
I can't imagine what it would be. We talked to the vet about it when she first started and they checked her over.
I put down my lovey today. She had been declining for the past year with her hips getting progressively worse. Given her some deer this weekend she reacted bad to and wasn't eating or willing to take her meds or treats. I was time I let her go. 15 1/2 years old. I was still a child when I got her in college.
Weather finally seems to be nice enough to put some chairs on the deck. They were claimed immediately.
This is the only safe spot under my desk where she doesn't have to avoid chair wheels, the other dog, and children.
One of my cats really enjoys hanging out, even if it's while I'm working in the shop, loudly and messily sanding stuff, or even running a chainsaw. Was refinishing my deck table top today and he just curled up and "helped". The other one came in with a "what are you doing and should I hate you for it and want to kick you out" investigation. She decided "no" and went to her chair on the deck and he continued to sleep.
My cat is also chunking out a bit recently. It’s getting harder and harder for him to squeeze though the bars in the gate. Tonight I saw him staring at the gate in deep reflection.
We have a resident groundhog kicking around. My cats aren't sure what the hell to make of it, really. (Shitty pic due to a screen cap from a video of the encounter). Lilly annoyed at something. As usual. Canso waiting patiently for birds to land on the bird bath. The sprinkler is set to go off for a few mins every few hours after I've seeded the lawn. The cats don't understand it. She has been sitting there for 15 minutes, staring at it, almost daring it to go off.
Our cat scratching posts are on there last legs. The stratching area looks like some sort of rope wrapped around. How do you all fix your cat scratching posts once they used them up.
I bought a few spools of simple jute cord from Amazon and re-wrapped things. I also made a few "from scratch" things with it that the cats really enjoy. https://www.amazon.ca/Darice-135-Fe...?dchild=1&keywords=jute&qid=1603383355&sr=8-9
Well, we had a cat for a few days. On Wednesday night, we were in the kitchen and see a small cat at the back slider. We open it up and she runs in and is super friendly. No collar. I had some kitty litter in the garage for oil spills and we gave her some tuna fish. Immediately take pics and post her to the Next Door app, FB etc. Nothing. Thursday we take her to the vet to see if she's chipped. Nope. By now we figure she's a stray so we go buy all the needed cat stuff. Yesterday we put signs up and got a call today from someone a few houses down. They described her perfectly. I'm on the fence as I miss having a car but also don't miss the smell and little bastard liked to meow. And.... wtf? The wifey just came home and the cat runs past her, runs to the litter box, dumps and meows to be let back out?!?!
You're obviously living in the servants' quarters... Could be that the "real" owners don't clean the litter box as well as they maybe should...
