It’s her first time experiencing heat like this. She’s not sure what to think. And after barking at the fan, learned that the best place to nap was right in front of it.
our young cat still gets us when it’s raining and acts like we can make it stop. Adopted him during the height of Covid, he was supposed to be an outdoor cat. He taught himself to use the dog door and now he acts more like a dog than most I know
Had to take the kitten to the vet this afternoon. After napping on me, she walks off, and suddenly is wailing and not walking on her back foot. x-rays show no break, and the vet gives us five days worth of pain meds. Best guess is she sprained or pulled something (while running around like a fucking crazy kitten) and that it didn’t hurt her until after the nap. So she’s back in her private room, with the cat tree taken out so she won’t jump off of it. Still limping but she’s happier now that the meds kicked in.
She’s looking more and more like a dog and not a puppy. Hard to believe she’s just over 4 months old. Here she is enjoying a nice hot summer night playing with the hose and the pool.
It seems Zoe has upgraded from rawhides... Spoiler Turns out my mom tossed out some of her basket making materials, including antlers for handles, and put them in the back corner so that the vermin cute little animals running around in the back yard can eat them.
Humidex of 40 (104F) and Zoe has the right idea… a pool and giant ice cubes. I freeze water in silicon bread forms and she goes nuts for them.
Local stores were out of wading pool inventory so took a drive out of town to get more wading pools. Upped the size a bit so it’s harder for her to fuck up. Mission accomplished.
The violence that is resulting is seriously testing my deck building abilities. The mechanical resonance discussions from earlier are incredibly relevant right now, as the whole deck is shaking like crazy. At least the pools aren’t moving.
We have a love hate relationship. For a long time I've been the mean lady. This dog never forgets someone who hurt her feelings, and there were definitely hurt feelings during potty training and some other early dog ownership learning curves. I made her move off my spot just before this pic. She relocated and looked very hurt about the whole thing.
So i came home the other day and my neighbours cat decided to use my excavator seat as a new perch. I had to move it yesterday, and the cat was sitting on a transformer box looking at me like where did my seat go.
