I've hacked up crawler4j a bit to do something like that. <a class="postlink" href="http://code.google.com/p/crawler4j/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://code.google.com/p/crawler4j/</a> It all comes down to what the URL's look like, the hierarchy, and the file name conventions that are used. If it won't do exactly what you're looking for, you should be able to fuck with it to be passable.
I can't stand SEO work so I'm wondering if anyone here has outsourced their website's SEO and what their experiences were vis-a-vis results/time/money.
Can anyone point me to a codec package for a macbook that's free, and will let me play videos downloaded via utorrent? .avi files to be precise, if they can play .mkv that's a nice plus. Every one I have found is pay only, and I have very little clue on how to work a mac.
I need a newer graphics card - to give a point of reference, I'm currently using an onboard Intel G33/G31 Chipset....yeah...and I want to be able to run something like Company of Heroes with high graphics in 1024x768. I like the specs/price on this guy here but I have no comprehension of whether it's compatible with my Intel Core2 E7200 2.53 Ghz. Any answer on compatibility or better ideas for a card are appreciated.
Any recommendations for free, easy CAD tools? I have little to no experience using CAD or 3D modeling software, so the easier the better. I've recently come into access to a bunch of CNC mills and lathes and assorted power tools and have some projects in mind I'd like to draw up and make.
This is driving me crazy. Googling and posting on FB have yielded no answers. About a week ago Facebook changed their settings. Now I'm getting notified (on the homepage at the top, not via email) about EVERYTHING. Every time a friend likes something or posts pictures or changes their status. How do I put it back the way it was? I've gone into Notification Settings, and gone through the lists under Facebook, Likes, etc. But I can't find whatever toggle it is to shut that shit off. Any ideas?
Have you tried editing your "close friends" settings, under "lists" on the left side? Hmm, actually, now that I think about it I made sure everyone is unchecked under close friends, and my notifications list doesn't look any better than yours. My Google+ notifications are still just status updates where I've been active. How's that for a (completely un-) helpful answer?
The new notification thing is called 'Timeline' - google 'Disable Facebook Timeline' or something and you'll find tons of stuff. Primary recommendation seems to be something using the Developer app - steps Is it really worth the hassle though? The only way to avoid facebook's BS is to quit using facebook. If you aren't prepared to quit - you basically need to take it like a bitch, like everyone else.
Realistically, the price of entry for a good video card is around the ~$125-150 price point. I wouldn't bother with a cheap card - either pony up for something decent or just use the on-board junk. Video cards are one of those things where you say you just want something a little better but the minute you get that little bit, you want something good, which means you spent $50 on a card that will sit in your parts bin after you upgrade it. About the best bang-for-the-buck right now is the NVIDIA GTX 460. There are a lot of them on NewEgg starting at $140 and if you watch slickdeals.net, there have been several sales recently at or below $100.

OK, what onboard graphics card you have and what CPU it is is largely irrelevant. What IS important is: 1) what wattage your power supply unit is - sometimes visible outside the box, but will also be written on it somewhere. The higher the wattage, the better - most modern graphics cards won't work satisfactorily with anything less than a 450 watt power supply - the last two I've bought have actually said this on the box. 2) the speed of the graphics card slot on your motherboard. This is usually not visible, but will be written on the box the motherboard came in - if you chucked the box, you'll have to write down the manufacturer's name and product code (both of which will be written on the motherboard itself, which will require opening the case). Get me that info and I'll have a browse for it. Or you can just type in the manufacturer and product code into Google and browse the manufacturer's website, which will list the technical specs of that board.
1) Another important factor here is the manufacturer. A 400W PSU will easily run most modern GPUs, provided that it can actually produce what it claims on the tin. 2) G31/G33 is a C2D chipset so it's fairly unlikely that he has an AGP card (and PCI-Ev2 cards are mostly backwards compatible). In any case, I agree with binary. It makes much more sense to budget for a higher end GPU and a good "last-gen" card like the 460 can probably be gotten on the cheap.
I'm trying to get the original Doom up and running, and I've pretty much succeeded (thanks to ZDoom), except for one thing that's driving me nuts: The game's original sounds (mainly, the sounds the enemy makes when they first see you) have been messed with. It's stupid shit that sounds like it was lifted out of Wolfenstein, instead of the demonic growls. I presume that these sounds are contained in the WAD file I'm using, along with the level information. I've tried searching for the original WAD file, with zero results. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or is it the doom.exe file I should be concerned with?
I'm looking for a place that allows me to take a YouTube video and convert the audio into an mp3 format. I did a Google search and have tried some of the first few links that come up, but they are all loaded with ads and pop-ups that will not go away. If anyone knows of a reliable website or application that can perform this task, that would be great.
Since my computer is driving me nuts... I'm running Firefox 3.6.22. How the FUCK do I clear the url address dropdown menu history? Going to Tools>delete all history doesn't do it. Right clicking the links and hitting "delete" doesn't permanently delete them. The dropdown menu used to be great, as it organized the urls by most-frequented site. Now it's a bunch of random shit that I'd like deleted (and for some reason, regular sites I visit - like youtube - don't show up when I start typing in their url). Fuck computers. When something works, why do they screw it up by updating it?
I think this is what you're talking about and their recommendations as well. <a class="postlink" href="http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Location%20bar%20autocomplete" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Loc ... tocomplete</a>
I just can't get a break with my PC having issues lately... So, the power went out today for roughly two minutes, as it has been doing almost daily recently. This time finally broke my computer, or at least I think it is related. I went to boot up my PC and it goes straight to Windows Recovery Options. If I go to Windows Recovery, it will load windows files and then take me to a black screen with an enlarged mouse cursor that I can move around. If I boot Windows as normal, it will freeze on the black screen with the pulsating Windows 7 logo. Even if I boot from cd-rom and insert the Windows 7 installation disc (the solution for when my computer had the nastiest virus since Ebola), it will boot Windows files and then go to a black screen with the enlarged cursor. I cannot find any useful or related information through Google searches. If any of you guys have any idea what the hell is wrong, please share your knowledge. I'm willing to do a complete system restore if necessary as I have all my stuff backed up this time.
