You know, in the past I would have been tripping over myself to be in the front of the line, but lately I have decided that he looks like he would smell bad. And not in a good way. I think I am going to just hold out for David Beckham for when he and Posh call it quits.
For some reason, I have always been respectful of Johnny Depp's relationship to his children's mother. He seemed to really love her and I genuinely didn't want to break that up in my fantasies. That said, I will fight every single one of you to get at that man. He has been the love of my life for almost two decades and I will not go down without a major brawl.
Y'all don't have very stiff competition, so long as your breath doesn't whistle through your teeth like wind in a gulch. I'm waiting for the snake tongue to fly out from between those teeth.
When I graduated high school, I got a job at the dry cleaners as a "counter girl." I helped with everything up front. There was another counter girl who was in her 40s. Her other job was getting paid for sex. Or, to phrase it the way she did, "...and I told him yeah I'm home, but I really need this cell phone bill paid." To lots and lots of guys. Anyway, 18 year old me was shocked to hear her recount her weekly sexcapades, including her adventures with a man with a gap. "Ooh! that gap is SEXY. He just *makes sucking noise.* Mmmm yeah!" I don't look at teeth gaps quite the same way anymore.
These raves are particularly girly so I'm putting them here instead: Rave: I met Jay McCarroll today! I was at the Renegade Craft Fair wandering around and someone complimented my outfit and I went to say thanks and it was him, which is the second best person to ever compliment me on my outfit after Simon Doonan. Jay actually had a booth at the fair, but I wasn't expecting him to be the one running it. It was exciting. Rave: Then I went to my favorite thrift store and got Jeffrey Campbell shoes for $17.
Well, you know that I know exactly who you are talking about and am nothing short of ecstatic for you.
These are tame compared to current Jeffrey Campbell styles but I snagged these off Ebay a couple years ago for $9. Brand spankin' new.
I'm getting my hair done as soon as I can get an appointment with my stylist. Right now it's longer than I like - halfway down my back. I'm looking to lighten it up a bit, and I also want to add a few low lights in a really funky colour. Anyone have any ideas/links to a low-maintenance, mid-length style that incorporates that?
Thanks everyone. Things are progressing as good as they can be right now. I'll update this in a week or two when things are more concrete, but I just wanted to say I appreciate all of you taking time to help an internet stranger.
Nah, something with a tasteful blue or purple streak in it, if that's even possible. More Pimptress than Jennifer Aniston.
Yup, light brown. I'll link a picture when I get home. I'd like a shoulder-ish length cut, no bangs (although I love the way they look, they're too high maintenance for me) and some tasteful wildness somewhere.
I feel that a lot of hair styling has to do with the shape of your face, and I can't remember how yours is shaped BUT... If you search mid-length hairstyles in GIS, several come up (including some relics from the 90s, but still). Also looks like you could do long bangs if you wanted, and just pin them back or tuck them aside whenever you don't feel like dealing with them. I know you've already stated your general style and color preference, but are you thinking sleek or choppy? When you say shoulder-ish, do you mean above (like a long bob) or below the shoulders? My sister had the bottom couple layers of her hair dyed black (the rest is kind of a maroon/henna color), and I think it looks pretty cool, though I've only seen it down.
My go-to haircut (though I haven't had one for awhile, I need to find a place here on the island) is a cut that is little longer than the shoulders with choppy layers all around and some face framing layers in the front. I have insanely thick hair that has body to it and will never ever lay flat, so the layers actually help make that quality look good. What is the texture of your hair? Thick or thin? Does it lay flat or have wave to it? People with straight hair can usually rock a more defined cut, since the hair is straight and lays the same way every day. I have wild woman hair and the one time I tried to get a pixie-ish cut, DISASTER.
I'm (halfheartedly) growing my pixie out. I routinely wake up with freaking rooster hair. It is not a good look. I like pinterest for hair ideas.
These two show my natural colour pretty well. Like I said, my hair is currently about halfway down my back. Like Bewildered, my hair is ridiculously thick, doesn't hang straight and in general something I put little effort into. It's naturally curly, and it styles very well so shame on me for never doing anything with it. Lazy, I guess. Oh, and yeah. You can see my shoulder in one picture. I think there's a strong chance there's some Native blood in me, because white people don't go that brown in the sun.
I know jack about hair coloring, but for your haircut? Unless you want to try something really out of the ordinary, you'd probably look great in a haircut similar to the one I described for myself. Your hair is a little wiry like mine and curly. I know personally that my hair looks "fat" on the edges without layers, so you probably would want lots of layers to prevent that appearance.
Layers will help you tons, especially since you have thick hair. I just got mine done last week, and had a long chat with my stylist. I have super fine, almost little kid's hair, and hers is super thick & naturally curly. She said she actually has different cutting styles for thick versus thin on layering, and showed me what she meant (cut mine the thick way, which is actually longer layers than mine, then did the fine way, it was obviously a slow day!). I don't have bangs, the way she cut mine I can either just blow dry it straight, and it's fine, throw some spray gel in it to make it curly, and it's fine, or actually bust out the curling iron if I'm going out & do whatever I want with it. Pretty much this will work for anyone, the only difference in cuts (as she explained to me) is how long or short the difference between "layers" is.
