The wife says she has had a couple of them and remembers the dreams very well. And every time she says I wasn't in them. I wasn't surprised by this but she had a funny look on her face so I asked her "is this why i get raped a 4 in the morning sometimes?" She goes "yes". Cant complain it had been some really great sex.
I might like the gold tipped one if it were more of a gradiant look than a stripe. I don't know if that's even possible. This reminds me of when I was planning my first wedding. I was a nail biter as a kid and so never did manicures or kept my nails long - even after I stopped biting them, I didn't like the feeling of long nails. For my wedding, instead of my stubby fingers I wanted to have pretty fake nails put on just for the day. My fiance very strongly objected because they weren't representative of me and he wanted it to be me walking down the aisle, not something fake. I dropped the idea because it seemed like more of a big deal to him than to me.
The first three are fine, if you're going to a party as a hooker. Maaaaybe, the first one if you have long, slender fingers. Otherwise, the last one. French manicures give me a boner.
I held back from saying that I thought they looked pretty trashy except the last one, but now it doesn't feel so harsh after rush's comment.
The last one. By a large margin. But the second one--the updated French manicure? It could look much, much better if it were actually on trend. Instead of garish gold glitter polish, I've seen badass black tips that looked amazing with a dressy evening outfit. Food for thought! EDIT: Kind of like this, but slightly more natural base color:
I don't see why anyone would want to paint just their tips a dark color. Is the appearance of having dirty fingernails trendy now?
I mean, it's obviously not dirt. If your base color is a clean and shiny neutral and your tips are a shiny black or navy, it's pretty obvious that you haven't been working with a greasy wrench on your transmission all day (or whatever tools and car parts are relevant to this analogy...I am not quite sure I picked the right ones). Nail trends are interesting. Ten years ago, showing up to an office job with dark navy nails was unheard of and viewed as unprofessional, tacky, a little too "goth" for an office, and something that only certain types of women would ever think of doing. Now? Outside of areas that are generally just slow to adapt to changing sartorial standards, navy nails aren't a big deal. I think the reverse French manicure (I think this is the correct term?) is an interesting look and I like certain applications of it. Olivia Wilde, for example, rocks hers! If I weren't such a nail-biter and cuticle-picker, I would try this myself. EDIT: Hey, dudes, I don't know how interested you might be in some current nail trends, but this article showcases a few (and the writer obviously has her own opinion).
Wow. So, what's you ladies' advice on buying a corset? I'm looking for something in the $40-150 range that is just not cheap Chinese-made shit. Any of you have one you're proud of, or would wear in public?
If you're looking for a real life corset that is well made, you're probably looking at spending more than $150, especially if it's an overbust corset. I've gotten a couple of corsets off eBay for a steal but it's really hard to wade through all the bullshit.
I have a leather corset from Hips and Curves that's great, and has stood up to some fairly vigorous..um..activities. I wouldn't wear it in public but that's mostly because it would be indecent. The other place that I've heard good things about--although haven't bought from personally--is corset story. Is this just for looks? Or do you want an actual steel boned corset that can be used for shaping/cinching?
Since I want to actually have a girlfriend when she opens the gift, it's just for pleasurable activities. Cinching or whatever is not something on the radar. Its one of those gifts that is a hair too expensive for her to buy on her own, but something she secretly wants. I just don't want to get anything cheap....I'm not expecting this to be an heirloom or anything, but I don't want it to rip on the way off.
