Stop arguing about Hendrix. It's about the person as FRONT MEN, not a guitar player. Hendrix at best is a shit singer, just a legendary guitarist. He could not sing. Not at all. Just listen to him- he sounds like a deaf person singing the lyrics to his own songs. The axe he rules, the mic he doesn't. Some others I should have mentioned: Ian Asterbury (The Cult. A voice unlike any other) Dave Wyndorf (Monster Magnet) Rob Halford (Judas Priest) Gord Downie (Tragically Hip) Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Pucifer, Titanica, etc.) Vince Neal (Motley Crue) Klaus Meine (Scorpions) Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) Ann Wilson (Heart. My favourite voice EVER. If only she stayed beautiful)
Those witnesses must have taken the brown acid before the show because every account Ive heard from people being there, including my dad, was that his guitar playing live was a transcendentant experience. Can you seriously say that watching his Woodstock performance that the guy was boring live? I'd have serious reservations about what your old hippy friends have to say on the subject.
Honestly ignore that guy, his is a moron. If you don't believe me skip past what he said about Hendrix and read his comments about Fred Durst.
