Spoiler Another fast paced episode. Really enjoying the change compared to previous seasons. Looks like we might be getting some answers about Beth's whereabouts too
Well, alrighty then. I guess so. Agree. After that reveal, in my head I was singing Spoiler "Tainted Bob, whoa, oh oh oh oh, Tainted Bob . . ." to the Soft Cell tune.
Cold blooded massacres in churches always work best. Looks like Beth gets her own side story like The Governer did last season.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing three The Wire Alumni in one episode of another show. Unfortunately they had to kill one because the world would implode if they had three black dudes on the show at once.
Can't believe how good this season has been so far. I'd basically given up on TWD, because I found almost every episode in Seasons 3 and 4 an exercise in frustration. I'm also loving watching the group prove themselves as intelligent and capable survivors instead of just bumbling into one predictable tragedy after the next. Spoiler So I guess we won't find out the answer to the tainted meat question? I loved that scene when he was shouting "tainted meat!" and laughing, but I guess they didn't want to clarify the science of the virus so they just bypassed the issue. When they introduced the preacher I thought to myself "Hey they've finally stopped the black guy quota." Nope, it's still in effect.
I am sorry but what the fuck. This season almost started to make up for it's shitty past, then they aired this episode, in my un-asked opinion this show isn't strong enough to carry three ( or more at this point who the fuck knows ) story arc's.
I think they'll do only one more episode of this Grady Memorial Hospital group Spoiler probably after the next episode, as the promo shows that deals with Sgt. Abraham Ford, Dr. Eugene Porter, Maggie, Glenn and co covering Carol and Daryl's attempts to get Beth out. I think they'll be joined by at least one of Edwards (more likely, as he can benefit the group with his doctor skills) or Noah (less likely, black quota). From there it'll start up again from where Daryl meets Michonne, and they'll go back to two storylines.
That episode just didn't work for me. Spoiler The characters just didn't make enough sense for me to care at all about them. The woman cop was weird and poorly explained. Why was she always slapping Beth? Why was her reaction to everything shouty rage? The rapey cop was so one dimensional, he started getting rapey in his first scene of dialogue. We barely even got introduced to the girl who committed suicide, so it wasn't like we particularly cared when she turned and killed the rapey cop. The Everybody Hates Chris guy started talking about his plan to escape within his first scene as well. The only guy with any depth was the doctor who was actually an interesting character. What system were they even running in the hospital? That the cops get to rape anyone they save and the woman cop leader looks the other way? Or was it just the one cop? The "threat" of the hospital just wasn't defined enough to make it interesting. Also the escape sequence at the end wasn't well filmed at all.
Didn't care for that episode. This season started promising and I thought might have recaptured some of Season 1/2 magic. Now not too sure about that.
Didn't give one shit about that episode, some have called me out in previous threads about bitching too much but this show isn't as great as people want to think. I get it's a drama, I don't want non-stop zombie killing action but fuck man, what the hell is going on?
Did anyone really think Eugene was a scientist who could save the world?? That whole story line just seemed hokey to me from the start. I really hope they don't continue with this 3-storyline bullshit, or, like someone said, it's going to be season 2 all over again.
Based on the sneak peek that was shown during Talking Dead, it looks like next week is going to be just Carol & Daryl (and whoever's body he was throwing on the fire.) I am guessing they get to the hospital with Beth, and rescue her (Carol pretends to be injured!) with Noah's help. Noah is probably the "Come on out" person from the previous episode where Daryl returned to the group. But, then the NEXT week, reunites part of the group that sees Daryl, Carol & Beth return to Rick & Co., who fight some zombies. At the end, one of those zombies will be just about to kill a major character, and at the last minute be rescued by Glenn/Maggie/Abraham et al. This puts the whole group back together. But, the rest of the season will be spent with flashbacks and episodes where they're arguing about where to go now that DC isn't really confirmed as a solution. Maybe an episode where the group sets up a siege on the hospital, because Rick decides it would be useful for their journey to have a doctor in their group. Then an episode where they argue about making the hospital their permanent home. Then zombies. Then the season finale is them boarding a hot-wired Greyhound bus to somewhere . . .
THANKS A LOT RUSH. Now I don't have to watch the rest of the season! Seriously though, that's pretty much what I was thinking would happen. It's a bummer it's so predictable.
Unfortunately, and despite my disdain for the sunk cost fallacy, I'm in this until the bitter, perhaps awful end.
This episode was terrible, once again. Could the Director get any more obvious with the way scenes are filmed? Sucks all the tension out of the situations. To build my interest, they need to introduce a mad scientist/engineer who creates awesome zombie-killing weapons and then have a character go on a killing spree at least every other episode. I like that characters are getting more grizzled/desperate, but It looks like they'll do nothing with that and just formulaicly plod along into the inevitable, disappointing end.
Since they're not going to DC to cure everything, they still need a mission that gets the group in motion. I think it would be cool if they were able to find something - an old recording or documents or something - that makes the group realize there was a particular person or group responsible for all this plague. And, that he or they are still alive, hiding in Charlotte, NC or something. Part of the group wants to get them to find a cure, and part wants revenge for what it's done to their loved ones lost. Gives the group a purpose, gives two factions to the group for more tension, and gets them to travel.
Question: How did that group of zombies end up all infected at what would seem like the same time in the sky bridge? It seems like they were holed up there but when Darryl and whatsherface showed up they were infected in tents and sleeping bags like they had all gone to bed feeling fine and woke up zombies?
