Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC I'm down. Hahaha I just read the thread, and I find Audrey's stance hilariously ironic. Meet strangers and go to a bar? BRING THE PEPPER SPRAY. Meet a stranger and follow him to a locked "underground lair?" Why not?
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC Nah, I was thinking/hoping it would be more like this: NSFW Only with everyone looking like the guy in the baseball cap.
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC I've spent years displaying a wildly inaccurate picture of myself to you people. I'm considerably less charming and pleasant in person.
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC Anyway, back on point before Nett yells at us, New York is probably better than Boston. Also, guys could bring non-Tibette girls to balance things out. That might be a little bit less awkward than the sausage parade. Any bar suggestions? I really don't like clubs, but there are a few cool bars that I'd be down for.
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC All I know is y'all better hope I'm out of this random Christopher Cross phaze I've fallen into, otherwise you'll see me defend a jukebox playing "sailing" on repeat with a violent fervor all night.
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC Yeah, and next Thanksgiving we'll tell the homeless guys to bring their own turkey to the shelter.
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC Boston is cool too with me too, and probably easier. New York is better but Boston has much more to do, if your favorite and only pastime is looking for drunk white guys wearing beat up baseball caps.
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC I can't think of anything more awkward than dragging a random with no exposure to the back story or personalities to an internet meetup group. Listening to a bunch of socially awkward strangers talk to the one person at the party who you know about this hilarious thing that happened to an internet psuedonym on a forum that you've never heard of has to be up there with the most awful thing any guy could put a woman through. I feel bad enough introducing girls I want to fuck to the dweebs I work with.
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC I don't see what's awkward about it. "I just want you to meet some people I know from internet....No, we won't rape, murder and dismember you. You *always* say that, crybaby."
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC It's only awkward if you make it awkward. Of course, this platitude means very little because I WILL make it awkward, but I don't see what it has to be any weirder than introducing a friend to any group that they don't know very well. I've met a few people off the internet, and it has ranged from incredibly awkward to not at all awkward, pretty much dependent on the actual people involved.
Re: TiB Meet-Up - NYC If this does go off, I'm willing to give out my Facebook info or something. Not that that's any less anonymous, but it might help people feel a little bit better if they could rummage through some random personal info. I think I'm friends on G+ with somebody here? I don't know.
