Can someone explain that to me? I thought the spoiler thing ended once the show aired, so that the point of these threads was to be able to rush to them after the show and gush about all the awesome. But I guess if that's the case... Spoiler I was surprised to see Bill looking really, reeeally good. Not sure what he was doing in the off-season, but it's working. Now I want to see Bill use his power for something awesome, and not just go back to being a whiny bitch. It's hard for me to take Witch Lady seriously once I realized she was Aunt Petunia from the Harry Potter movies. But she is a pretty damn good actress as far as being a spooky psycho goes, so I'm optimistic the feeling will pass. Maybe the witchery and faerie shit puts most people off, but I think it's fun and awesome. While I do like to see vampires politicking, I think delving into the ridiculousness of myth makes for a much more interesting show. And speaking of interesting, Eric fucking Northman. Crafty, smooth motherfucker. Sookie must have the most insane willpower in the world to not have been banging him since day one. I'm hoping that willpower runs out soon so we can get to more Eric being naked time.
That's what it says in the "spoiler rules" thread stickied at the top of this subforum. But I guess it is just there for no reason.
It's been in the sticky thread since November. Being both a passive agressive little douche and wrong isn't explicitly listed in the sticky threads, but it's also frowned upon.
Apparently HBO is letting subscribers to their GO service or whatever watch the second episode one week ahead of time. Of course, it can be found on the usual torrent sites. I'm downloading it now.
Spoiler about episode 2 which hasn't aired yet. Spoiler Holy crap. Bill Compton became the king of Louisiana by killing Sofie Anne. Or rather he had some henchman do it by shooting her with some wooden/silver bullets.
Thought from the end of episode 2... Spoiler Not sure I dig this whole vulnerable Erik shit. I hope he returns to being his normal bad ass self soon.
Yeah, I saw the torrent of episode 2 and was like "No way I missed 2 weeks of True Blood, looked at Wikipedia to see it was airing next week and wondered wtf. I agree with all of the above about episode 1. Spoiler But isn't it kind of retarded with the year time lapse they needed so badly that Jesus still has to beg and plead Lala to do anything? Especially after their fucked up V-Trip and telling him he was a witch? Took him a year to learn about this and well not ask "What's up with that book club you keep going to? Where are the books? Also, were those things actually fairies or are they something else? I completely missed that. That was some cool shit though with the fight. Can't wait to see some more Good ugly fairy vs Bad ugly fairy soon. Force balls? I'm in. Oh and if they have an entire episode involving Jessica biting and fucking, I will no longer need to watch the rest of the season or internet porn (for a few months anyway.)
Spoiler I liked episode 2 much more than the season opener. It felt more cohesive to me. I don't know if that was because supposedly a year had passed since the prior season so they had to throw so much in for catch up. Overall, glad that they are on track. Regarding vulnerable Eric, I'll take him any way I can get him, I am just hope that this storyline gets lots of airtime. The witches are suddenly more interesting to me. Bill usually annoys me to tears but I liked him as the king and I loved punk rock 80s Bill and how the whole mainstreaming thing came about. Plotlines that they could drop as far as I am concerned - anything involving Tara, anything involving Hotshot (although hopefully this will pick up some steam if they are going to turn Jason). Solid show though, I think I am back on board.
E-02 Spoiler I truly hope that Marnie is actually posessed by this season's primeval instead of being the main villain herself (judging by that stupid "spell" scene), because if she isn't this season is going to suck. What happened to Erik was a shitty cop-out on that episode. Still, Erik was the lone reason to watch that episode because it was lacklustre at best. His "renovations" of Sookie's house cracked me up. When Sam bangs his new girl, is he going to unleash a Shiva Blast? If Jason in any way feels attachment to that stupid fucking waist-of-air white trash slut, I am writing Alan Ball and telling his gay ass to kill off Jason's character. Just to let everybody know there's is no such cat as a "panther" on this earth. It's a nickname, just a black-coloured version of a large cat. What cat ARE the Beverly Hillbillies exactly? I'd say Jaguars judging by the size but I don't know. I hate it when writers don't research their own shit to even the slightest degree. I'm glad that Sophie is officially fucking dead and we don't have to endure her half-assed "I'm so bad" one-liners. Good riddance.
Book stuff included, nothing major Spoiler 1. They're referred to as werepanthers in the books. I'm guessing it's really a black jaguar or cougar; honestly, how can you nitpick this? It's a large, black cat with big fucking claws. 2. This sensitive amnesiac Eric bullshit better not last as long as it did in the books. There's a reason Eric's such a good character - namely, his cocksure sarcasm and wit. I understand this show is geared toward young women who will coo at Skarsgard playing a sensitive emotional guy. I also don't give a fuck. They're effectively removing one of the most entertaining characters in the series, and they need to find a way to pick up that slack. (White trash titties don't count)
Spoiler Spoiler Black panthers are jaguars/leopards that are black instead of regularly spotted. It's not much of a stretch that Hot Shot is full of werepanthers, given that they are inbreeding.
Spoiler It's also not much of a stretch that the fine denizens of Hot Shot aren't really up on the whole genus-species thing. Also, were-melanistic leopard just doesn't quite roll off the tongue the same way.
For anyone who has read the books: Spoiler Vulnerable Eric leads to hot, slightly kinky sex with Sookie. Then, once he gets his shit together again, it's the same old Eric having equally hot, slightly kinky sex with Sookie. I really (hope) don't think they're going to gloss over this for the show
WHERE THE FUCK IS ALCIDE?!?! I am over the plot development. Seriously. I've waited a long fucking time for this season. I'm ready for hot sex and shirtless Alcide. Let's get this shit rolling, Alan Ball. I can't keep rubbing one out to that one dream sequence with Sookie/Eric from last season...my spank bank is empty. Fill 'er up.
Wait, this show has a plot? S2 Spoiler I fucking knew that as soon as Bill became King and "cool" that Eric was going to get hit with something. No way they were going to have them on equal level. This season is going to benefit from more Nan and getting into more vampire lore. It's still confusing how the Magistrate and Nan work in the same system under the Authority. Um, can we talk about the horse bitch? That actress nailed that scene, she looked like she was just chilling the fuck out, huge nipples and all. Also I'm not a fan of Eric losing his shit, but his build up and return to power if done right, could be fucking epic. And I hate to keep saying this to myself and critics of the show, you have to remember the source material, those books weren't NYTs best sellers. Alan really can't change much or improve much without killing the fan base. I'm just going to ask for consistent campness, and Jessica getting naked. They really just have too many plot lines right now, and we know they're not going to pull them together as smoothly as we'd like.
E-03 Spoiler That was my favourite yet this season. This is more like the show I love. I thought Erik was going to be boring, but instead is great comic relief if you're familiar with his character. Tell me you didn't piss your panties when he called Sookie "Snookie". That ending was knee-slapping hilarious. Retard Erik will at least be fun for a while. Alcide's return was fucking great. His white trash girlfriend is June Cleaver now, depsite the fact he no-scoped her last fiance right between the eyes. Love makes us do strange things, I guess. I like Bill this season. He's meaner and not so starry-eyed and lost like the past couple of years and I like how they show his parental attachment to Jessica, who is always a great character to watch. Aside from being a knockout, she is never irritating, scheming or a hassle. She's always entertaining. Pam is walking off with everything so far this year. It was a smart move giving her more screentime, because she kills it every time.
E-03 Spoiler I'm sorry if someone hates me for saying this, but I find retard Eric sexier than Eric at full capacity. He's adorable and sexy without ulterior motives. I think it has something to do with the fact that he doesn't have self control. He just goes on instinct, and I find that weirdly sexy. When he killed Sookie's fairy godmother, for example. The awe-shucks look on his face made me want him that much more.
Is it just me, or was this past episode just...meh? Like, I've been waiting for fireworks and I'm just...blah. Nothing. It's irritating. This is HBO. DO YOU HEAR ME, ALAN BALL? NO MORE FUCKING PLOT DEVELOPMENT. MOAR SEX. Spoiler Thoughts: Things I care about seeing more of- a) The creepy doll b) Marnie's evil witch lady c) Pam being a badass d) Eric killing faeries, being hilarious, etc. e) Mentoring scenes between Beel and Jessica Things that bore me to tears: a) Idiot were-panthers telling stories about Ghost Daddies and whatever the fuck else those gross people were talking about b) Tommy trying to scam Mama Fortenberry c) Andy's v-addiction d) Hoyt e) Jason Stackhouse languishing in filthy sheets in Hotshot Things that piss me the fuck off: a) Debbie b) Alcide being stupid; there's no way that crazy bitch has reformed her cheating ways c) Sookie trying to foist Eric off d) Actually, just Sookie. e) Ginger screaming her head off every time she's onscreen.
