I picked Clinton. I fucking hate that iron-cunted bitch, and have ever since Bubba got elected in '92. But Trump's ideas about Mexico have me worried. I know that most of you don't give two shits about Mexico, but I'm right here on the border. I can tell you with 100% certainty that a wall/tariffs will not stop any illegal immigration, and if anything, it will hurt Mexico's economy and lead to MORE illegal immigration. And I work in an industry that is severely impacted by illegal immigration (auto repair); I should be FOR a border wall. But guess what? They already built a wall/fence down here, and it was just a big, fat, waste of money. Plus, a lot of land owners lost their property under eminent domain. NOBODY who lived in the border area wanted a wall. It was all people who lived in other states, or areas that weren't affected (as severely) by illegal immigration. But what do I care? I can't even vote.
I think Clinton is going to win the electoral college, but the popular vote is going to be really close....hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Trump won the popular.
Far more likely the opposite: Trump wins the electoral college but loses the popular vote. Clinton is going to beat Trump far more handily in the big blue states than Trump will beat Hillary in the big red states.
The polls are largely wrong, as mentioned in the other thread by other posters. Clinton will win, probably by 6 points.
What kind of shit hole of a country do you live in where you can't vote? I've worked the last two federal and one provincial elections here (Canada) and as an election worker I had a bunch of tools to make it so an unregistered voter with ID and proof of address could vote.
It's his criminal record. I don't agree with it either, but let's not get past the scope of the thread.
Hillary. Because, ugh. Voting Republican at this point for me would be like only achieving orgasm when the girl starts to cry....you judge yourself a little. In looking at Trumps platform, some of it is appealing but he couldn't pull any of it off, some of it is nonsense that would be a waste of time like his ban on Muslims (like there's a drug test for religion...ffs.), some of it is the same old Republican shit that hasn't worked, like his economic program....and given his style of "leadership", I don't think he'll do well in an environment in which he can't fire people that bother him...so he'll likely get impeached, and we'll have Mike pence running shit, and according to Indianans....nope. if we were electino supreme leader sure, but a president has to have some skills that Trump just don't got.
I think Hilary wins going away. I honestly don't think its as close as it's being made out to be. I think the election is called by 10pm EST.
I voted for Johnson in Colorado. Whatever, please don't anyone give me a lecture on a throwaway vote or any of that nonsense.
Dude, absolutely no one voting for either of the "big two" this election cycle can whine about anyone else throwing away their vote.
I think more people will judge Hillary as the shinier of the two turds, but not by much. Either way, next Wednesday through Friday will have an interesting news cycle. Should we make predictions on what the most extreme reaction to either result will be? If Trump wins I think you'll see broken windows on cars with Trump stickers. If Hillary wins though....
It'll be over early because the west coast literally doesn't matter, not because it won't be close. This whole thing comes down to Florida, Ohio, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. If Hillary can pick off Florida, or PA + any of the others, it becomes nearly impossible for Trump to win.
They really need to fix that shit. I remember in 88, 92, 96, & 00 going home for lunch and the news telling me the president had already been elected before I could even get a chance to vote. That kind of bullshit kind of takes the wind out of your sails to get out and vote.
I mean it made more sense when a state's electors were picked directly by their respective state legislatures. The entire system is built on the idea of "states pick the president," not "individuals pick the president." When you vote for president, you're really voting to tell your state how to choose its electors.
It will be hilarious if Hillary wins the electoral college and Trump the popular vote to hear calls from the right to do away with the electoral college just like the left did in 2000.
Clinton could close it out early because Trump has a number of death states. NC, Ohio, and FL in particular. If he loses any of those he's done. If he can hold those 3 (and only in Ohio is the lead really meaningful) then Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado all come into play and we'll be looking at a long night. Clinton could win the popular vote by 2 million and still lose this. Given how much people hate Trump that would be nasty. If Trump wins the popular vote it's really, really unlikely that he could lose the electoral college. The deep blue states are just that much further apart.
I think that there is also a very real chance that this could be a year where we see faithless electors.
