It's not a popular stance, but I don't think we were made for porn. IMHO it does more harm than good as far as our sexuality. I know that personally, having given up porn was one of the best decisions I've made. http://yourbrainonporn.com/
Haha, yes, the irony isn't lost on me. I have giant cardboard posters of two of our covers hanging right in my office.
I'm from the UK too and this is spot on. Cameron has already started backing down, saying that 'soft core' porn won't be included (because that would include the website of The Sun, his most powerful supporter!) and apparently not being able to confirm if the ban would include sites on sexual health. Basically, he hasn't got a fucking clue. Apart from anything else, this supposed internet ban doesn't mean anything, because it will only come into effect for 'new' customers (so if you switch providers) and... you can opt back in! So apart from a couple of blokes having an awkward conversation with their other halves about how they actually do look at porn and would like to continue to do so, I can't see it being a problem. P.S. No-one from the UK actually gives a fuck about the royal baby except the press. Those crowds outside Buckingham Palace the day it was born? They're all tourists.
I lived in a country that tries to completely restrict access to porn (South Korea) but it was easy to get around. You could get a VPN which would cost a few bucks a month, go through proxy websites, use the tor browser, there were plenty of options. The methods for getting around the blocks usually resulted in your internet slowing or the programs you used fucked with the websites because they disabled plugins required to play videos since they can tell your location by those, apparently. As long as the people are willing participants and want their pictures/videos out on the internet (or don't care) I don't really see it as a problem with feeling entitled to look at whatever kind of porn you want on the internet. But I agree, it for a lot of people it isn't about freedom, kind of like how we all know that the porn industry protesting CA trying to make their "actors" wear condoms wasn't actually about freedom of expression.
