Oh, brilliant. Because THIS is the blockbuster character meant to take over the MCU: https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertai...ands-to-lead-the-new-team-in-avengers-5.html/ Here’s a better idea: NOT doing another Avengers movie. Marvel has plenty of other teams/stables the MCU can use now, with far more interesting characters to lead them than the charisma-free stonefaced cosmic chick.
Am I the only one who has long since gotten sick to death of so many superhero movies? I like the genre ok, but goddamn, it's as if TDK came out, and ever since they've been cranking them out at the most obscene rate of any sub-genre ever for over a decade, and still have no signs of slowing down at all. I cannot wait for this trend to finally end.
It has NUMBED us as movie fans. It killed the blockbuster summer seasons we looked forward to so much, it has killed the action-adventure genre by basically infesting it like an amoeba. Along with the forced inclusiveness that it helped usher in, the entire comedy genre itself is also on thin ice. Many directors like Todd Brydges won’t do comedy anymore because they’re tired of dealing with Cancel Culture’s constant backlash towards anything that gets made fun of. ....so he made “Joker” to get out of the controversy game. At least stand-up comics fight back.
Personally, I'm just waiting for a new type of Indiana Jones movie(s). Being completed stuck in the house, I watched the original trilogy and goddamn, they were just fun, good movies. I'm not saying they should keep beating this dead horse by continuing the original series. But a whole new character and adventures would be nice.
I think 1 and 3 are thrilling, incredible Saturday matinee roller coasters. Temple Of Doom is a stomach-churning, mean spirited overblown gross-out. I watched once as a kid and hated it, I watched it as an adult and it gained no charm. It was the movie that created the “PG-13” rating (Raiders of the Lost Ark was rated R before some FX tweaking) but it just seemed like a bunch of set pieces that try to top the “snakes” scene. Last Crusade.... awesome. The perfect sequel to Raiders.
That may one of the worst trailers I have ever seen. The movie may or may not be any good, but that's an F- on the trailer. The YouTube description includes "CAST: Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon," and the Credit Title card shows Linda Cardellini first below the film title. The woman is a treasure and the trailer featured one half-second clip of her from the back? Kyle freaking McLaughlin got more screen time. Tom Hardy movies that feature his mouth obscured and some kind of marble-mouthed accent seem to do well at the box office, so who knows?
https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywoo...look-at-timothee-chalamet-zendaya-oscar-isaac This shit on the other hand is starting to look really good..... I actually liked the 1984 version of "Lawrence of Arabia in Space", albeit getting past the goofy bits. The book is seriously one of the best sci-fi novels of all time. The folks involved rarely, if ever miss: Villeneuve, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, hell they got Aquaman and Drax and MJ. I am cautiously hoping that this can continue amidst the COVID outbreak and arrive on time. If anything it may actually make it better, since this will be the only major release on the calendar. Also, www.denofgeek.com/movies/confirmed-sam-raimi-directing-marvels-doctor-strange-2/ Raimi's Spider Man 2 is one of the better comic book movies ever done. Considering how dazzling the first Dr. Strange was, (it was like Inception on acid), I'm excited. Raimi is also famous for the Evil Dead series, which if you haven't seen....fuck yeah, they are hilarious and awesome.
I heard there is a movie coming out about Al Capone's syphilis days, starring Tom Hardy. But, I can't find the trailer. Can someone post a link to it?
