Are they doing a "theatrical" release that's shorter than that? Or is the Zack Snyder cut considered the director's cut? Because I never watched the original Justice League, but the new previews look like an entertaining CGI action romp which I'm good with. There's no fucking way I will ever sit down to a 4 hour CGI action romp, though.
Yeah, to be clear, I didn't mean a literal theatrical release. I was just wondering if you'd be able to pick between 4 hours of the director jerking himself off over the source material, or a more reasonable cut.
Not that I know of. I know it was never originally intended to be R-rated or 235 minutes in length, but Snyder didn’t make that good of a film in-camera and Joss Whedon really, REALLY didn’t do a good job directing it post-production after Snyder had to quit. All the footage with the exception of Leto was shot with the original film. Snyder invited none of the old actors back, everything added was new special effects and was was left on the cutting room floor after Whedon was done phoning it in.
Would anybody know of any ChromeCast-friendly apps you can walk the plank with? I’d like to not watch it on my phone. Maybe I’ll use the projector. I mean... four hours. That is a LOT of required razzle-dazzle to hold our interest. There are few films since Birth of a Nation that have run that long. I might have to get mushrooms for this shit.
It just shows the state of Marvel vs. DC. Marvel has already done a 20+-story arc with dedicated movies to each of the main characters and now they’re doing interesting stuff like WandaVision. DC is re-releasing their flagship movie because the first version of it was garbage.
You can check out Popcorn Time. It's basically a torrent client with an integrated media player. I've never tried it, and it's going to be a somewhat compromised experience because it must stream through your phone. The best Chromecast experience is when your phone simply directs your Chromecast to the remote stream and says "here, play this." You can't do that with torrents, because the download has to be processed first. But you can give it a shot. I have a Plex media server, which works well with Chromecast. But it requires you to have downloaded things in advance and added them to your media library.
DC fans are like the Maple Leafs fans: always maintaining an insane, unflinching loyalty for what almost always seems to be a lost cause. Aquaman helped revitalize it with a monster box office take, but it had a lot of camp to it and was only better than a few of the Marvel films.
John Clark is by far my favourite character from those books, and Without Remorse was a great read. Looking forward to that movie...
Yeah, John Clark is one of my favorite literary characters ever. I have not been impressed with any of the on-screen versions of him though. The pseudo-Clark character in the Jack Ryan show is decent, but is still not quite there. Hopefully Jordan does him justice.
I have listened to all the Jack Ryan Jr. audiobooks over the last year or so, and John Clark, an aging, elderly John Clark even, is a pretty main character throughout. Quite enjoyable.
