I quite enjoyed the Netflix run of Marvel's The Punisher (and the Daredevil episodes that introduced him). I thought he was fine in that. I also thought he was fine in Baby Driver fwiw.
Every season gets better and becomes more intelligently constructed. It has its reputation as one of the greatest shows ever for a very good reason. It changed cable TV shows forever and set a ridiculously high bar to follow. Deadwood and maybe The Wire are up there with it.
Just watching a youtube video on the subject: Moltisanti, is loosely translated as 'Many Saints' in Italian. The Many Saints of Newark
I’m just going to ask this: is anybody else here looking forward to how much Space Jam 2 is going to bomb? I don’t get the nostalgia for this first one. I appreciate a decent animated film but it wasn’t one. It just wasn’t that good of a movie, so who asked for this? The same idiots who just so badly had to have a Tron sequel?
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/sopranos-star-says-james-gandolfini-022621848.html Speaking of The Sopranos ...
Is this where we find that cousin Cristopha was the true heir all along and the Sopranos got their place by singing a song the FBI liked? (that's something a reviewer said on a Series Preview from before the S1 premiere, guess it didn't pan out but will it?)
Will be interesting to see what they do with some of the mythos of the show. Did the cop Christopher killed actually pulling the trigger on his dad or was it a ruse by Tony to gain more loyalty? Chrissy acknowledge it didn’t matter either way since it was the boss’s order but eventually ran with the idea it was. Still be a fucked up manipulative stunt by tony if it was.
The more I see of it the less I like it as an adaptation of the book. Seems more like a reimagining, which I could live with if it's done well. I have faith in the director.
Meh. I liked Ghostbusters better when it revolved around a bunch of grown nerds. The fact that this is kid-centric is a bit of a turn-off.
I'm with Crown, this looks good to me. But, then I like Stranger Things, and this has that vibe, to me. (And not just because it's one of the same kids.) It's a nice way to continue the story for a new generation, too, instead of just trying to do a stupid remake.
Supposedly, it's based on Icelandic folklore. Looks like a wild ride. Per A24 usual, as fucked up as a lamb-child may be, that is probably not the twist. I'm sure there's more to it in the last 1/3 of the film.
