The first one was one of the worst films ever made. Which gave me no reason at all to watch the second one. Or this one. For those who complained about “Jurassic Park 3” REALLY didn’t know what a bad dinosaur movie was yet. Hell, “Carnosaur” is better than this shit. Spielberg wishes he was dead just so he could roll over in his grave.
Thank you. JW was pure, soulless garbage. It wasn't awe-inspiring at all the way the original JP was.
The first time I watched the T-Rex rip through the wire fence in 1993 it was a shot of adrenaline I will never forget. It was the most extraordinary effects ever seen, nothing came close. Even with a generally lame plot, the film created a sense of wonder in it that no other film has— it brought the impossible to life without making it exploitive or overbearing. A pure thrill ride that hasn’t aged at all. And when the effects weren’t on screen…. We had Goldblum.
I was nine years old when I saw it. The CGI still holds up, amazingly well. The only hokey visual effect is the “running raptor legs” camera angel. And it brought us to Jurassic World, where the T-Rex became Rocky, and the raptor became Babe.
In the new movie Liam Neeson teams up with the raptors to teach them Irish karate so they can stop a hijacking.
I love the original Jurassic Park I mean who doesnt? I tell you what though the only thing that irked me was the fact that theyd have us believe the billionaire owner of the advanced cloning technology company was really going to do the in person introduction to the DNA cartoon at the beginning of every tour? There were like 8 seats in the mini theater he'd be there introducing the cartoon longer than it'd take to show the entire DNA sequence! Give me a break Spielbergo.
It make sense in that it was a “soft open”. The paleontologists were there to validate the feasibility of the park and it’s safety measures as a requirement to open by Hammond’s investors, it wasn’t exactly how the park was going to operate with a regular tour group. The part of the movie that bugged me was that the Nedry’s disgruntled behavior didn’t make a lot of sense like it did in the book. Book-Hammond was a greedy asshole and made Nedry take on more responsibility than he originally agreed to, which made more sense in terms of his motivations.
Most of the characters were caricatures. The only ones I liked in the movie were Malcolm, Muldoon (who was badass and criminally underused) and Mr. Arnold, the latter two dying horribly. I think Sam Neill is a great actor but I always thought Grant and the rest were lame. Laura Dern was just fucking terrible.
This trailer was 10x better than the first one, but holy crap does it spoil the shit out of the movie, so keep that in mind if you decide to watch it:
Cage playing himself was inevitable. No actor has a more unique and trademarked shtick as he does, tied with Goldblum. I HOPE it’s a good movie.
At first, I was like, meh Charlie Day and Jenny Slate as leads? I'm not sure they can carry a movie. But, then, as I realized they both are playing crazy people, it looks like it works. Could be fun.
Eggers is truly a visionary director. And this is the story that inspired “Hamlet”. You don’t have to ask me twice.
I haven't watched any of the new ones. Soon as i saw the first trailer of Pratt training the Raptors i lost all interest.
