I used to be a fan of Jackass, but after watching a few episodes of the Dudesons, none of their old stunts even remotely faze me anymore;
The two highlights in that are definitely 'duck hunting' and 'high five.' I'd be lying if I said I didn't rewind about half a dozen times to watch the 'high five' clip. Priceless.
Talk about a crazy coincidence. Earlier today, I was speaking with one of my friends about how in the right hands, a movie adaptation of "Norwegian Wood" by Haruki Murakami, one of my favorite novels ever, would be amazing. Yes, it would need the right director and actors, but it could be done. (He was skeptical) Then, completely unrelated, a few hours ago, I stumbled across an entertainment article saying that there would be a movie adaptation of the book coming out later this year in Japan. Hell, they even released a short teaser trailer less than a month ago; Yeah, I know most people here couldn't give a shit less about foreign films, but Murakami is one of the most popular writers alive today, especially in Europe and the United States. I am as ridiculously hyped about this film as anything in the last few years, just because of how much I love the novel.
I'm always interested in alien invasion flicks, so this trailer had a certain appeal to me. It could be decent, or horrible. I suppose I'll have to wait until November to make a final judgment call.
Monsters. This looks fucking awesome. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNsLeDJFLPQ&feature=player_embedded" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNsLeDJF ... r_embedded</a>
My two favorite ladies dukin' it out, lezzin' it up, and I think I saw some masturbating in there, too. I haven't heard word one about the actual flick, but fuck who cares.
Oh please, please God tell me this isn't a hoax: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1493547/news#ni1843913" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1493547/news#ni1843913</a>
I remember one of the series' creators, William J MacDonald, saying in an interview several months ago that they were trying to make a film out of it for a "conservative amount", around $50 million. That link is credible, but it's from late March, since when there has been little progress.
I am so amped for The Fighter and I haven't even seen a trailer for it yet. It's a film based on the real life of "Irish" Micky Ward, a boxer from Lowell, Massachusetts and his older brother Dick Ecklund. Ecklund was a good pro who never met his potential and he became his brother's trainer. Ward is played by Mark Wahlberg, who has trained four years for this role and is the only reason this project ever had any legs. Ecklund was originally going to be Matt Damon, then Brad Pitt, but now it is Christian Bale. I expect this film to garner a lot of award publicity. How can it not with the crazy life Ward led? I read his biography, followed his career, and it is just incredible. The one downside is Spoiler They end the movie before Ward ever fights Arturo Gatti. Which is a HUGE letdown considering it is one of the greatest fights of the last decade and really made Ward a household name with casual fans and helped earn him some good paydays. Also the fact that Ward and Gatti became lifelong friends and Ward trained Gatti [albeit to a loss] after the fact.
I think M Knight Shyamalan is a hack, but his latest "Devil" shows promise. I'm sure there's some lame twist in it, but it looks more interesting than every movie he's made since The Sixth Sense...... ..COMBINED
Fuck. And. Yes. More polished looking than the first one, but I still have high hopes for it. For all you uncultured swine who haven't seen the first one:
Been waiting on this movie for months. Ever since I heard Mark Wahlberg was playing Irish Micky Ward I have been stoked to see this movie. Finally the released the trailer about a week ago and I am still stoked.
The only 2010 US film I am hyped for just dropped its trailer; And, let's be honest folks; it fucking sucks. However, that is more to do with the awful music selection and painfully overdramatic, pretentious voice-over than anything else. I'm still looking forward to it (I have amazing faith in the Coen Brothers), although not quite as much.
Not sure where else to post this, so.... Has anyone here seen "The Tillman Story?" The only place it is showing that is close to me is like 2 hours away, so I am wondering if it is worth it or not. Thanks.
I saw this trailer for Skyline last night, and even though I'd never heard of the movie before, I will definitely be seeing it in the theater. I totally agree with Steven Hawking about the fact that we shouldn't try to contact alien life forms (since, if they're able to travel to different planets with ease, they'd be shitload more advanced than us), and I've been waiting for a movie like this to show what I think would happen if they came to Earth. There's also a second trailer, which is a little longer and shows quite a bit of stuff about the movie. Spoiler Awesome
