Crazy to me that she's Tony nominated, Grammy winner, and I never heard of her until she did that one episode of Black Mirror. And now she's everywhere. Kinda like Fergie; who actually knows she was already an award winner with her previous singing group, before ever joining the Black Eyed Peas?
I’m surprised how good the CGI is. Considering how bad special effects have sucked beyond belief lately, because they won’t use real animals in movies anymore. Fun fact: That bear actually is real. They constantly desecrate its corpse in a Kentucky mall. Of course it didn’t terrorize anybody, it OD’ed and died in on the spot.
yup. The “inspired by a true story” part, for once, means there’s actually an insane story behind it. An idiot drug runner pilot and accomplice had a plan to toss a few dozen kilos of cocaine out the back over a heavily wooded area, one dude would parachute down after it, grab the stuff on the ground and presumably get picked up. So the drugs went out of the plane, then the guy jumped… except the parachute didn’t open. He splatted on some random neighborhood driveway (you can see that briefly in the trailer), and the cops were somehow able to piece together that there were drugs involved. By the time they found them, there was a dead bear, about half the total amount is still missing, but an autopsy showed the bear had ODed after ingesting only a few grams of cocaine.
It does look alright. Not sure if they have a time shift aspect to it to work with his age but it looks like they have a lot of dark shooting scenes which is easier to hide CGI. Im guessing they told ILM to simple "not do The Irishman."
Hell, deep fakes already look better than that. “Gravity” was entirely a deepfake movie: never did the actors appear on screen except the final shot. You see how easy and seamless YouTubers can do it in the earliest phases of it.
Looks intense and gruelling, the way horror should be. There is zero humour to be found there, and the cheese grater will probably become a meme for the film. I knew Campbell was done as Ash, but I didn’t know this was going to be a stand-alone sequel to the remake.
