You've probably blocked "Mank" from your mind, because that movie sucked shit straight out of a dog's ass. Recent Movie Review Thread
Fassbender is a great actor with really shitty management. Hopefully this helps stop him from picking roles in shitty movies all the time.
Seriously. Talk about a great series going unfinished. Fincher has a huge development deal with Netflix. He's getting a chunk of money either way, so it sounds like he doesn't care. Plus the younger guy got involved with Hamilton.
I'm pretty sure the budget for it was crazy. Fincher uses a lot of extremely subtle VFX to tweak a scene to look exactly how he wants it, especially when doing a period piece. Netflix was willing to continue the show, but with a reduced budget, but given the auteur that he is, Fincher opted not to.
Cage is doing good work recently. I mean, he's always had some good things (and some bad things), but he's really hitting a stride in the past few years.
Because he can choose his projects again. While in debt, he had to act in any piece of shit they threw at him whether he wanted to or not. He’s no longer pro-rated and during that time that he was, the man basically perfected modern shamanism. He has his own method to art the way a legendary guitar player has their own unique sound.
It's possible that I have not had the full view into Cage's career. I've seen a lot of his more famous action movies. I have Leaving Las Vegas but haven't managed to watch it yet for some reason. I really loved how frenetic and wild Mandy was, but that was still within what I knew of his range. And of course Unbearable Weight was so much fun but again, I know that Cage can be fun. I was simply stunned by Pig, though. I really wasn't aware he was capable of such a subtle, intense and emotional performance. Did I miss some jobs in his career that would have pointed at that kind of a movie being so clearly within his wheelhouse?
Raising Arizona Adaptation Moonstruck Joe* Bringing Out The Dead *I haven't seen Joe, but a friend of mine keeps telling me I need to.
His performance in Vampire’s Kiss has to be seen to be believed. It truly defines who and what he is. Leaving Las Vegas is one of the best acting performances of the 90’s, period. He REALLY makes you feel his pain in that movie. Adaptation shows how brilliant he is, because he gives two different genius performances playing identical twins—who you can ALWAYS tell apart while they are on screen together— simply because of their character’s confidence levels.
I like the fun of Matthew Vaughn's movies, so this appeals to me. His stuff is silly and funny and moves fast. https://youtu.be/7mgu9mNZ8Hk
