That looks like it could be really good. Which is a change, since every single film on Sandler’s Netflix contract up until this point has been absolute dogshit.
I think it's got a chance. For every Murder Mystery 2, there's an Uncut Gems. (I know UG wasn't Netflix, but still Sandler.) And, actually, I thought You Are So NOT Invited To My Bat Mitzvah was entertaining, and Hustle was pretty good.
I'm a bit of a Sandler fanboy. Not because I think all his movies are great or even good. But because he's always done it his way with his friends. In the land of Hollywood where people sell their soul for a buck and 15 seconds of fame, he's stayed true to himself and made a fuck ton of money doing it.
It took me way too long to figure out you guys were talking about Adam Sandler... had no idea that was him in that movie. I thought you were referring to some director I had never heard of before.
Hustle is a good movie, and by far my favorite Sandler movie, mostly because I’m not a big fan of his brand of humor. His early movies were amusing, but I can’t get into most of what he’s done over the last 20 plus years.
Amazon Prime is making a remake of "Roadhouse". I love the original for it's trashy goodness and the remake looks interesting.
It looks good. If you take on remaking a classic, you better bring your A game. Some of those MMA scenes with Jake Gyllenhaal for weigh-ins and fights were shot during legit events and media days, because people have been posting pics for awhile.
Yeah... I never really thought of Jake as a tough guy, kind of like I was wondering WTF with Krasinski taking lead in an action series.... but it looks like he pulls it off.
Anyone think that Gyllenhaal juiced for this role? Also, what ever happened to that Road House remake with Rhonda Roussey that was supposed to come out about ten years ago?
I think they all do... but not hardcore gym rat type stuff... I think it's more HGH and testosterone type stuff all prescribed by doctors. I have no doubt that the production companies all have a rolodex of doctors to keep it all above board. It's also "easier" to get into killer shape when that's your job for a year, with a personal chef, nutritionist, fitness coaches, etc. It sucks due to the discipline required (so I hear, as I have none), but when there's a multi-million dollar payday at the end of it, you're kind of motivated to see it through.
He’s been in good shape a few times. It’s “Nightcrawler” when you barely recognize him. He’s underweight, bug-eyed and his character and performance so utterly detached from humanity that you won’t remember its him. Like an alien trying to impersonate a human being by wearing his skin around town and ruining lives for money. It’s a brilliant performance.
As much as I hate all these reboots ( except Star Trek, I liked those ) I also wanted to hate a re-boot of Road House. But that looks kinda good.
That's kinda the thing with Dalton character, he's not supposed to big and bad type tough, more a skilled and Intelligent fighter. Which is what people should actually be truly scared of. Swayze and Sam Elliott weren't big tough guys, they were meant to play fast, trained and smart fighters.
Totally agree. I was more reacting to the jacked shots of him in the promos rather than his fit into the role. Dude is ripped.
