It does look like him. I think it's worse that I realized that in the meeting, the guy over Jason Bateman's shoulder on the left is Mitch from Waiting.
Yup, I'm going to have to go ahead and give a big old "fuck off" to everything about this movie, including David Fincher. This movie looks like shit. It's so cliche to say, but what the fuck man? Roony Mara has nothing on the original Dragon Tits.
Jack and Jill Adam Sandler's latest involving him playing both the male AND female parts. I see Adam continues to take the route of Eddie Murphy and trade in the funny for cheap family laughs.
They're filming Dante's Inferno with Bradley Cooper as Lucifer. I honestly have no thoughts at this time.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Say what you will but I believe its going to be a good movie probably one of the best of the year, yeah I said it. Speaking of the original dragon tits though. I'm still waiting on the new Sherlock Holmes trailer because I'm curious how she is going to do in an American film. OK honestly I'm more concerned how American AUDIENCES are going to feel about her. She kicked ass in the millennium trilogy and is an amazing actress, I would love to see her in more movies.
At first this looked like a parody of shitty movies Sandler has made in recent years (like the intro to Tropic Thunder with Jack Black)... and then it got much worse.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...610892/Tinker-Tailor-Soldier-Spy-trailer.html Please let this get Gary Oldman an Oscar. If not we'll see how it is for a best picture nominee.
The Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=2054374751994 And Sherlock Holmes 2:
One of my all-time favourite movies is The Thing. Seems that there is a remake due out soon. While I'm skeptical, it could turn out all right. But I do hate remakes, for the most part. The irony is that the one that I like is a remake itself, from 1982.
I thought this was more of a prequel. Takes place in the Norwegian camp that they find decimated in John Carpenter's version. Supposed to show how easily it could have gotten away from Kurt Russell et al. Sounds like it could be good if they do it right.
Hmmm, not a bad trailer at all. This could be surprisingly good. I just hope they don't waste it on "jump" scares, and use tension to kick things up a notch like Carpenter's version did so well.
I don't know... based on the clip, it sure seems like a remake to me. OK, it might be in the other camp, but it still seems to me that it's the same basic story line. According to IMDB: It'll be interesting to see just how much it differs from the original, but it still kind of looks to me like a flasher remake with minimal changes to technically call it a prequel.
Two of my favourites are ebing remade this year: Fright Night, and The Thing. This film is offically a prequel at the Norway camp, but they probably used the original name simply for the $$$ factor. The 1982 version bombed in theatres but now has an enormous following and let's face it, it is one of the scariest movies ever made. The only difference is now people know it, so maybe even Hollywood bowed out to good taste and decided it wouldn't be in the best interest of logic to desecrate a classic. I've waited a long time to see it, and I must say the trailer is actually well done. They hardly reveal anything while still making it look tense. Unlike Fright Night, I actually want to see this one. The thing is: what made Carpenter's version so scary was Rob Bottin's effects: they were actually real creatations in front of the actors, not created from computer. And Jesus Christ were they ever DEMENTED (and haven't aged a bit. I still shudder like crazy when the he transforms and slams into the ceiling during the blood test scene) I'm hoping this isn't another nauseating excercise in CGI, but maybe something with more traditional tactics. I think that could be a refeshing change.
I don't know how well this will be executed, but the core base for this movie gives me chills. In Time Also JT is determined to be a movie star. I'm kinda pulling for him to be the the next [white] Will Smith.
This looks fun. It's the red band trailer for Kevin Smith's new movie. NSFW if the words "red band" didn't clue you in. Red State
I saw this when he took it on tour. The thing is, it is so completely unlike any Kevin Smith movie ever that it is shocking he made it. Personally, I really, really liked it. I always think one of the signs of a good movie is if it sticks with you, and the wife and I were discussing the movie days after we actually watched it. Now, I am also a big fan of Kevin Smith and all his other movies, and I did watch it with him sitting about 100 feet behind me, followed by a Q&A, so my take might be biased. They are doing a limited release on Video on Demand around Labor Day, and I highly recommend checking it out for yourselves. I did watch that trailer, though, and I have one complaint (spoilered just in case, but a lot of this is in the trailer): Spoiler The scene where they wrap a guy in plastic wrap and shoot him in the head is fucking disturbing, and they gave a lot of it away in the trailer. This bugs the shit out of me, as that scene was completely unexpected when I first saw it, and it was a really fucked up scene. The trailer didn't give away a lot of other harsh right turns the movie takes, or other surprising moments, but that one was one of the best parts of the movie, and they gave it away in the trailer. They didn't give it all away, but it still takes some of the shock out of that moment.
The Ides of March - Pretty awesome cast: Clooney, Tomei, Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti.
