I'm an extra in this movie. They did a majority of the filming at my school (Miami University Ohio) Looks like its going to be one hell of a movie. The experience surely was.
I found 2 good resources for finding free screenings of movies. The first is called BuzzBo and they have pages for individual cities. The other is called http://www.gofobo.com. Usually buzzbo will give you a code for your area which you then use on Gofobo to get your passes for "private screenings." You can also search an area on Gofobo, and if it says "Open Screening" you can try to get tickets from that. Sometimes these are just free screenings. Other times you're actually a test audience. Another way to get free passes (at least in Pittsburgh) is to check the Weekend Section in Thursday's paper. They don't have them every week, but they're usually listed in the first page of the movie listings. I imagine other cities would probably have the same thing. Anyone else have any other tips?
Look, I'm as skeptical about another Body Switch movie as the next guy. But from the interviews I've heard with the stars of it, it's not the run-of-the-mill body switch comedy. Hard R, and they were as down on it as we are until they read it. I'll give it a chance. Mostly because I like the people in it.
Saw the trailer for this yesterday before the monkey movie, and this just looks all kinds of awesome.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance - I hate Nic Cage, I hated the original, but man, this looks pretty cool.
TWO Peckinpah remakes released one week apart form each other!?!? At least the trailers look good. This one looks exciting: Erik Northman as a rapist redneck? They had BETTER do this one right, it's a classic:
Hunter S. Thompson's The Rum Diary finally has a trailer. Looks more slapstick than the book, but whatever. I'll actually sit in a theater for this.
In case anyone was interested, Kevin Smith's Red State is going to be put on VOD before it gets released in the theaters. Basically you use one of the on demand options and pay for it like you would any other new release movie, but you can watch it at home. He's doing a completely different release of this movie, something similar to what Tucker was trying to do but this movie actually made it's money back before it's release. If you are interested visit his site and you can read all about the details of the release and where you can watch it on demand. Red State News
Definetely looks more played up on humor...but this could be outstanding, loved the book as well. The supporting cast looks pretty good even.
I remember seeing this when it was linked. Stoked for the movie though. Tom Hardy coming off of Warrior to play Bane was genius.
Even though I thought the first movie sucked, Expendables 2 not only will have Arnie and Bruce in bigger roles, but Van Damme and Chuck motherfuckin NORRIS have signed on too. For real.
The Muppets parody the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trailer. Blatant. Unapologetic. And amazing. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/muppets-parody-r-rated-girl-236012
Eh let's throw out some more trailers. A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas - 3D? Come on. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows - Jared Harris (better known as Lane Pryce on Mad Men) plays Professor Moriarty. Looks promising. Battleship - Well, Rock'em Sock'em Robots is about to come out. Next up will be Candyland. This was not what I was expecting. It looks like Independence Day, but on water. Margin Call - Spock from the new Star Trek works on Wall Street and discovers his company is ripping off people. Not the most original plot. Good cast though it doesn't look very compelling to me.
I just saw a trailer for the new The Thing on TV. John Carpenter's version is one of my favorite movies. I don't think any sci fi/horror movie tops it.Anyone else think that CGI is gonna look like shit compared to the old effects? I hope that they can pull it off. I'm gonna see the "prequel", but color me skeptical.
Leo is going for the Oscar and he may have it this year. J. Edgar trailer: http://www.firstshowing.net/2011/must-watch-first-trailer-for-clint-eastwoods-j-edgar-with-dicaprio/
