True. But it's Oliver Stone. Being preachy is sort of his trademark. On the plus side, it looks like an original story that will stand on its own. Unlike many sequels which rehash the exact same plot.

I was planning on seeing this movie in the theater until I watched that. The other trailers I have seen left me wanting to find out what happens and didn't give out too much information. That trailer showed what I'm guessing, is every plot point in the movie including the survivors outrunning the bomb blast at the end after the military nukes the town. I could be wrong but its now definitely a rental for me. Shutter Island did this too. The early trailers gave away the twist and made me not want to see it, now a rental too. The newest trailers took the spoiler out.
Just thought I'd toss another one of these up here since I saw a trailer for it on TV and it still looks baddass:
HBO is making "Game of Thrones" http://www.thrfeed.com/hbo-greenlights-game-of-thrones-to-series-pic.html I have read the first two books, and it's essentially knights, dragons, zombies, and royal intrigue for adults, and I highly enjoyed them. I think this could be really good.
That is fucking awesome. Though I wish that assclown Martin would stop spending so much time making tv shows and finish the next fucking book.
http://filmdrunk.uproxx.com/2010/03..._campaign=Feed:+uproxx/filmdrunk+(Film+Drunk) I know what I like: explosions, witty one-liners, robots and Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man 2, will you marry me?
HD copy of the new Tron Legacy trailer that debuted with Alice in wonderland. I think I just jizzed in my pants a little. I actually liked the original back in the day so sue me. I mean what's not to like? Light Cycles? Check. Light Cars? check. Olivia Wilde looking ridiculously hot as always? double check. I may actually try to be first in line at an IMAX 3D to see this. Now if you'll excuse me I have to return to my Light Cycle porn.
Looks like De Niro is playing Vince Lombardi in a new movie about his days as the Packers head coach. Nothing big yet but could turn into something very interesing. http://riskybusiness.blogs.thr.com/2010/03/09/robert-de-niro-to-play-vince-lombardi-in-espn-film/
Warner Brother's is remaking Wizard of Oz. <a class="postlink" href="http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk-oz-next-franchise.html?nc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-t ... se.html?nc</a> It gets worse. No music, present day, darker, and more faithful to the book. Well there goes any faith I had left in humanity.
Robert Rodriguez is producing a 3rd Predator movie that is supposedly coming out in July. The trailer for it doesn't come out until next week, but here's an article http://www.wired.com/underwire/2010...op+Stories+2))&utm_content=Google+Feedfetcher yeah that made me pee a little bit.
The Losers, based on a comic book. I suppose if the A-team met "Shoot Em Up" this would be the result.
Someone mentioned this movie before but damn... It looks meaner and meaner. And Chris Nolan and Leo? Lets just hope (I don't think she will but seems like a miscast) Ellen Paige doesn't shit the bed in this role
I have my doubts as to whether this can be as good as the anime but it looks promising and I'll just hope for the best. M. Night Shamalamadingdong doesn't engender a ton of confidence in me. Edit: So is it me or is it just plain odd to have so many Western actors in the roles of "good guys" in what is a Japanese anime translation to live action?
<a class="postlink" href="http://movies.ign.com/dor/objects/429477/predator-3/videos/predators_trl1_031810.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://movies.ign.com/dor/objects/42947 ... 31810.html</a> Trailer for Predators, by Robert Rodriguez. I dunno about Adrian Brody portraying a badass in a science fiction movie, but...I'll still definitely be seeing this. Added bonus: Danny Trejo AND hopefully we get to see Topher Grace brutally eviscerated by a predator.
That first scene when the city is curving over Leo's head was fucking badass. I will definitely be seeing this one on theaters.
Shia normally sucks, but he did well in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. I'm torn on WS2. The "now it's legal" line SUCKED the first time I heard it, but when you hear it in the context of his entire speech it isn't entirely horrible. I definitely agree that the odds against this being as good as the first are about a million-to-one, but based on the trailer alone I don't think you can rule out the possibility that it will be worth a watch.
Dr. Horrible 2 to be a feature film? God, I hope not. The great thing about Dr. Horrible was that it was short and sweet. It was done on a budget that was juuuuust big enough to allow the necessary special effects to look good and not completely cheesy. I don't think more time or more money will do Dr. Horrible any good at all.
