I don't even care who made them. I'm in. Take my money now. I've been such a huge fan of the franchise, the first two of the last three were tough to watch the last was good (I thought) and I continue to read the books. As long as jar jar binks is dead. Fuck it, I'll watch them all anyway. There are so many stories available they have tons of potentially good movies to make that this could go on in perpetuity. May the force be with them.
Holy shit that was terrible. I'm probably going to watch it in theaters anyway, but that was not encouraging. At least they have a high budget to play around with.
Terminator Genisys Trailer: Also known as, "Miscast Characters: The Movie" Terminator is my favorite film franchise, well at least the first two. The third was a joke, the 4th is okay, but has some serious issues. Really? Khaleesi? And jesus christ, Jai Courtney must have an awesome agent. So they're retconning the original, okay. Star Trek, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Back to the Future 2 did that successfully, but that casting, I dont know. This looks like a made-for-SyFy parody of a Terminator movie.
I wouldn't worry, it's going to be the best! I mean, that's what YouTube comments says. Actually, my favorite comments part was this: This makes me sad. Sarah Connor Chronicles was waaay better than this. How does this crappy movie get made, but SCC gets cancelled?
That's funny that two people from GOT have been Sarah Connor. I miss SCC so much, I want my Cameron back. I can't watch videos at work so I went to the IMDB page. Matt Smith is in it -yay!
Yeah, I love me some Emilia Clarke, but I just can't buy it. She's too small, too pretty, too Khaleesi. Everything else looks awesome though.
Clarke is woefully miscast. She's as small as Kristen Bell, what the hell are they thinking? I actually liked the trailer. I like Jai Courtney on Spartacus but nothing else, couldn't they just give Michael Biehn the Benjamin Button FX treatment? I saw the guy here in town a while back and he's aged quite well.
I am going to hop in and say, that I'm 100% in on anything Jason Clarke is doing. I hope he gets at least 30-45 minutes of screen time or I'm going to be disappointed.
Great actor. He deserves better than some of the shitty roles he had to take to get his foot in the door *ahem* White House Down *ahem*
Jason Clarke looks like a decent John Connor. Nick Stahl didn't know what he was doing, Christian Bale over-acted the fuck out of it, and Edward Furlong is a human dumpster fire. An adult John Connor is almost one of those characters that's better off the screen than on. The mythos was so highly built by the first two movies, finding a decent adaptation of him is tough. The future war scenes look cool, and I'm sure that the VFX aren't complete as they almost never are in trailers, but I kinda wished they stuck to the grittier, punk rock version from the first two movies.
What it truly needs to do is have Brad Fiedel's remarkable and unmistakable sledgehammer music score than was the trademark of T2 instead of just playing it during the end credits like the last two. Along with the effects, that score is the linchpin of what made the movie so huge. Dun dun DUN DUN DUN.
Looks like more CGI porn bullshit. God damn it. It'll get a decent box office opening week bump for being Terminator and having Amelia Clarke. It will be forgotten the next week like every other rehashed reimagining of 80s-90's actions flicks that have came out in the past few years. See: Total Recall/RoboCop/Terminator Gynisis.
The first is a remarkable film that changed how movies were made. You won't be able to compare any of the sequels to the first, it's as gritty and Indie as a movie gets. The sequel, Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior is the USA title) might be the best action movie ever made. They would never allow movies like that to be made. Stuntmen literally put their lives on the line for the sake of entertainment. However, the new one like the original three is directed by the series creator George Miller.
