Canada vs. US Though it pains me to say it, America is no longer a great country, and frankly hasn't been in a very long time. Like any other empire in decline, we (as a country) rest on past accomplishments. If this country was founded in 1975, it would barely rate 2nd world status. Though I'm proud of my heritage, I can be objective enough to say 'Yeah, we've seen much better days.' In short, America is that guy sitting in the bar talking about 'how great a high school football player' he was. And hasn't done anything since, at least nothing to be particularly proud of. So Canada, you win. Even with the shitty musicians.
We have lots of good music. Funny thing is, the best stuff we end up keeping to ourselves: This band's singer (Katie B.) is one of the hottest females alive: These guys are Finger 11 now. I like this version of the band much better:
Fun Facts: America's defence budget is larger than the next 11 largest national armed forces combined. The American naval fleet is larger than the next 13 largest naval fleets combined. So hurry up and build more fighter jets, because THAT chuck of money-evapourating stupidity has really rubbed off on my country too.
Speaking as a current Military member of the most underfunded service in the US, I do not fully agree. Defense spending does need to be reduced, BUT it needs to be reduced from those blatantly overspending branches IE: Chair Force and the Army. There is no need to allocate 100's of millions of dollars into upgrading our already vastly superior air assets and its infrastructure; except those platforms that have been around for 25 odd years and for which certain essential parts are no longer made because the company moved on to better, more profitable ventures with the Chair Force. Until certain units *cough* mine *cough* can afford to keep more than one printer working for more than a week at a time, then I will disagree. When staplers and hole punches are no longer a hot commodity, then I may agree. The percentage of funds we get allocated is hysterically laughable when compared to the other branches. It's funny though, we get infinitely less money, but we get the job done better, faster, cleaner, and with more tact. So it works well in our favor, but we are still getting cut like the rest of them...
Ahem. The comparitive worth of the chair force and the world's largest gathering of latent homosexuals, or more broadly US military budgets, falls under the no politics rule and your internet slapfights over the topic shouldn't be in the drunk thread. I'm sure there are many, many places on the intarwebs where you can scream at other people who are wrong, lets try and keep on focus here - getting shit faced and posting youtube clips and pictures of sluts you found on tumblr.
ARE YOU HAPPY NOW SCOOTAH?! Is that really better than hearing Diablo talk about how much the air force needs more staplers?
Okay zyron, you've beaten me. I hand my hairy pussy crown to you. In the past, I've only shown girls that I would touch, no matter how drunk I was, but speaking as a man WAY over the legal driving limit (I'm not driving right now), I would not touch that woman. No way. And scootah, I thought that the drunk threads were an "anything goes, short of child pornography" affair. Now if y'all will excuse me, I'm sure scootah is probably going to ban me for calling him on the lack of rules on the drunk thread. (And remember scootah, you're a moderator, so you can shut this thread down any time you want, and get new threads started out of the suggestions thread.)
El husband ate FOURTY (ok fine dixiebandit.....FORTY) pot stickers tonight. Good thing they were cheap as shit to make.
I am too lazy too figure out what politics talk there was or what it means but here is a video of some babies dancing so put this in your eyelobes and earballs
Yeah, I was in the Navy and currently contract with the Army. The Navy still uses comm gear from the 50s, and the Army can't keep more than one printer in this building supplied with paper at a time. Of course, they did just finish building us three new Satellite dishes last year. Your unit may be on it's game, but most of the Marines I've worked with over the last year could barely tell their ass from their elbow, let alone operate the gear they'd supposedly been trained on. By the way, infinitely less would mean zero.
Yes, we are a part of the Navy, and because of that, we get about 10% of their budget. And Marine's do not have the Raptor, we have the still to come out Lightning 2, which is even more of a money pit than it used to be. Yes it's far more advanced than anything we currently fly, and yes, the vstol version does cost a ton more, but we're still flying the Harrier, the Prowler, and the F-18. The flying lawn dart known as the Harrier costs insane amounts to keep from falling out of the sky, and with the ever slowing upgrades to the electronics packages for the Prowler, we are due for a new aircraft to take all three of the strike's platforms places. There's still half the strike community who hates the L2 because of the fact that it's single engine also... The oldest Helo in my squadron is from the early 70's, and has a good 200,000 hours on it, but it still fly's just fine. But that's all I should say about that. I head to NYC tomorrow for the long weekend. Good friends, good football, good bars, good times.
I made an AVB sandwich last night (AVB = already vaped bud - really good / easy to use in edibles) at like 5 pm and I'm still high Today will be interesting.
Honestly, I think 'sack would love it here in Fairfield County. I can totally picture him living in Greenwich and driving his BMW into downtown Stamford just to hurl fistfulls of nickels at the day workers by the train station.
